Arrived unbroken. Black and white colouration very sophisticated and stylish. Can use anywhere in the rest of the house. Easy to fill - just pour water over the top of the balls. Personally I only re-fill the water daily ( approximately 1 cup to fill both balls). Provides great humidity in my bedroom so helps my breathing and sleep quality improve. Would recommend to anyone looking for an economical way to add humidity to one small (12' x 15') room. Would need more for open-concept main room of a house.

These seemed like a great idea and do work to raise the humidity to plants right next to them. But I threw them out because they got black mold on the inside and yellow discolorations and mineral buildup on the outside.

I purchased these on an idea of someone else using them in their plant cabinet. They work well if someone is looking for them for their plant cabinet. I have a rudsta for IKEA and have the smaller one on the top shelf and the bigger one on the bottom. They do elevate my humidity by 20%.

Presently buying my 5th set. These are wonderful and I want to be sure I never run out of them. Have an all electric house with baseboard heat. The electric heat is not only extremely expensive to use, but it dries the air terribly. It takes 4 of these domes in the bedroom to counteract the dry hot air. Keep them on a tray so no problem with spill over water during refills. After a long while they do need a bit of attention. A good scrubbing with mild detergent and bleach takes care of the problems and doesn't affect their effectiveness. Highly recommend.

I really liked the idea of these. I only use purified water with them and the clay still changes colour and marks up a bit. Just to check, I’ve set both sizes beside the hygrometer for almost a full day, and they didn’t do anything. The clay doesn’t feel dry, though.I live in a very humid place, and don’t want a mouldy humidifier for a couple months of electric heat. These don’t even change the humidity of my work and sleep areas.ETA: A year later I filled the white parts with water to see what would happen. The water seeped through the top. Obviously, they are permeable to water and must give something to the air. Perhaps it's so dry here for a couple months that they were doing what they were supposed to, it just wasn't enough to combat the air.

Part of my problem with this product is I /really/ wanted it to work at least a little bit. A cordless, decorative method to locally increase humidity? That's exactly what I was looking for! I saw other reviews that mentioned it brought the humidity in that area up 10-20%, which is what I was looking for (definitely hoping for closer to 20%)I filled it up about 24 hours ago by running tap water over the ceramic portion until the bowl was almost full. I set one of my temperature and humidity gauges next to the humidifier by my plants and measured the humidity every hour until I went to bed, and every hour after I woke up to see how it shifted. My room humidity started at 34% (the low number you can see on the gauge) The highest it got from the ball was 39% (the number you see presently on the gauge). Before I put the humidifier there, I sprayed my plants with water from a bottle and placed the gauge there about 5 minutes after I sprayed, and that brought the ambient humidity up to 43% (the high number you see on the gauge).A spray bottle costs a dollar from the local dollar store and worked almost twice as well. These balls may look better than a spray bottle, but are way less functional and require the same amount of attention, as I have to water the balls every day (lol) and I would spray my plants every day.Unfortunately, it's not worth it for my purposes. I'll be buying another humidifier with the hope of keeping my plant kill count to a minimum for the year.

I like these little humidifiers because they look good and they don't need to be plugged in. I keep one by my bed for when I sleep and the smaller lives with my plants. I just need to make sure that they stay filled and they work to keep me and my plants hydrated during the winter when my heat is on and drying out the air. Keep in mind they will only hydrate a small area around where they are. I keep one on the bedside table, which is closest to my face when I'm sleeping. The other is tucked in among my potted plants. They both came packed really well, so they arrived intact.I haven't yet tried to clean them yet. I've read that some folks just drop them in the dishawasher. I worry about the ceramic ball, it seems like a dishwasher might crack that piece. I plan on washing them by hand. Mine developed oily(?) droplets on the tops of the ceramic balls after the first use. These droplets are still there even if I forget to put water in and it dries out completely. IDK if I should have washed them before I used them the first time, but I am hoping that they come out once I finally wash them, because they are not cute and detract from the aesthetic. (I removed one star because of these 'droplets' on the surface)

If you’re looking for an electrical humidifier that pumps unnatural amounts of humidity into multiple rooms over a short period of time, this isn’t the product for you. If you want to a product that works using a room’s natural temperature and increased surface area to promote natural evaporation, this is a very good product. A small fan can be added to help disperse or expedite the evaporation which is more eco friendly than the heat and fan mechanisms on the standard electric humidifiers.Pros:- Uses a fraction of water compared to electric humidifiers. One gallon of distilled has lasted me almost 3 weeks using both the large & small one for my son’s room.- it feels like the humidity lasts longer/is more sustained as it’s slow, constant release (until it runs dry).- I you use distilled water instead of tap, it’s harder for algae to grow so you don’t need to clean it as frequently as there are no minerals to sustain plant-life.Cons:- Humidity increases gradually (noticeably within a 4-5 hours)- Will not generate enough humidity to help soothe colds or major hay-fever episodes.- Potentially frail (not that I’ve tested how shatterproof it is). Definitely a water it & leave it alone kind of product.Overall, would definitely buy again.

En realidad son un par de esferas de barro que en teoría absorben el agua para luego liberarla por evaporación, pero no son muy efectivas. Son un buen adorno, pero definitivamente no son humidificadores.
