Took our hitch and this kit to a dealer for installation and was told it wouldn’t work for our hitch so it’s pretty much not universal.

2000 F350 4x4. I would have bought the fitted bracket set, but alas, I have an airbag spring system so the universal kit was a must. Before installing this kit with the rails, print out and read the instructions multiple times. Then print out and read the install instructions for the actual hitch. You may find the instructions regarding hitch placement conflict. Per the instructions for my 16K Husky, it states that the centerline of the hitch should be between 1" and 3" forward of the axle centerline. If I had followed the instructions for the Husky universal bracket kit, it would have resulted in the hitch being located too far to the rear.If installing without a lift, plan on burning an entire day. Measure thrice, drill once. Use cutting fluid on the drill bits when drilling frame. Make sure you install the center bolts on the bed rails. Be very careful when drilling on the drivers side near the fuel tank; There are brake lines and electrical conduit in the frame. Order the 17/32" drill bit in advance; Not many places carry it.On a side note, if you plan on restoring a Husky hitch (sand and paint) they refuse to sell you the safety/instruction/load rating stickers to place back on the hitch. That turned me off of the Husky brand a bit.
