I don't know what factory 24" chain was on my Rancher 460. I swap down to a 20" a few years ago. All I can tell you right out the box. It's the sharpest chainsaw chain I ever touched. It cut me just from tangling. I don't cut trees nothing but for storm damage. I'm buying a extra along with 6 other chains.

The C83 chain does not have the anti-kickback links, it's quite aggressive in the wood, so be focused when cutting. I'm writing this shortly after receiving it, so I don't have a feel for durability, but I'm sure it'll be in line with all things Husky. Shipping was very quick from the Seller and USPS was fast moving it through the system.

Previously had same chain so I knew the replacement I was getting and how it performed. Oregon makes a better performance chain but I was in a pinch.

I was a dedicated user of the H47 chain, it was a log cutting chain that I used for years. When I heard about the C83 I still stayed loyal, but wanted to (just try) a C83. Let me tell you this is the sharpest chain out of the box, I am not even sure I want to touch it up which I usually do on other chains, I might make it dull. I have only cut a 10" branch to (just try) and it went through the branch pretty easily, with my chainsaw revving high as it was about to go through the branch. The H47 does a great job, the C83 does it slightly better, cause its sharper and this is the X version which is stretched. I do not know if anything is being phased out, cause I have 2 favorite chains the C83 being #1. Please if you are not proficient using a chain saw, (meaning you just got it) error on the safe side and get the H80. I love the fact that I thought the H47 was the pinnacle of chains only to see more effort and time spent to produce the C83. That tells you a lot about Husqvarna and the products they put in your hands, highly recommended.
