This pretty lyre is very well made and easy to tune if you go slowly, as you must with all harps and lyres. I took three days slowly bringing each string a fraction closer up to pitch many times a day. Once tuned, it holds the tune nicely and has a warm, ringing sound. Since this one has 21 strings, the strings are quite close together, so you can't play it like you would a harp, with fingertips going in between the strings. It works well plucking out a tune with one finger. You also can get a lovely wind chime sound if you tune it to C as directed and then tune all the F's down to E's and all the B's down to A's and just strum. Or pluck some notes together and they always will sound good in that pentatonic scale.
