Waited to write this review. The tree is growing fast and will be planted in the spring. It was bare bones no leaves. Thought I donated money but to my surprise it is flouring in a pot, grown, and leaves popping out like crazy. Following directions to plant in the spring.

Working to restore some native trees that have all but disappeared in America. Ordered my Chestnut baby from this vendor a couple of weeks ago. Arrived promptly, well packaged. Potted, watered per instructions and he's doing wonderful! Leafing out, buds swelling. Ordered another yesterday. :)

One of the three trees had a broken tip. The trees were packed nice and looks healthy. I guess it happened during shipping.

It arrived bare root. It seemed that as soon as I planted in some potting soil and watered it the dormant buds activated and immediately started growing. Must be pretty healthy and treated well pre shipment to immediately grow once planted.

Looked like a well established sapling, Seems to have taken root well. Healthy plant.

I order my trees in winter because they are dormant (no more than just twigs). This lessens shock through travel. These trees not only came fast, they have amazing roots and come to find out there were actually 3 root systems! I will update in summer 2024 to say how many of the three took off.

So this little sproat came quickly in a triangle box. It is just a bare twig sticking up supported by a small stake. There are no leaves or branches. I have a question about what to do with it. Its in a grow pot, but should it be paced outside for exposure to winter weather or is being indoors under a grow light acceptable?Update: It took a month but finally under the grow light, the bare twig sprouted little leaf's and small branches. Hopefully the main trunk will get thicker so it can support itself.

UPDATE!! I guess I reviewed too soon! They were very late blooming, maybe this is a chestnut thing?I bought 4 of these in February 2024. Planted them in separate pots using a mix of premium potting soil and local soil on my farm. I’ve watered with only natural rain & supplemented with caught rain water. They look the same now as they did when planted! Very disappointed to date, if they happen to come alive later this spring I will update this review, as of now I’d say buyer beware!!
