Great feeder!I’d recommend putting something on the battery terminals so that they don’t rust from being in a moist environment. Ours is on the top of the fish tank kid, thus, it is exposed to high moisture levels.

Easy to use, works well and is reliable. I especially like that you can easily adjust how much food is fed. I simply put in the food, the batteries and hit the button. I've only used it with flakes, so ignore my opinion if you're using something else.Granted, I live in a dry environment, so you might want to be careful about the food getting moist.

Reliable, solid quality Hydor fish feeder! Italian made company! Holds over two weeks worth of feeding for my 75g marine aquarium! I set mine for two feedings daily and it feeds six hours apart ie. (9AM and 5PM daily). Tip remember to set it at the time you want your first feeding of the day and then forget it. You can set it for 1, 2 or 3 feedings a day. Good value pricing and highly recommend purchase for your aquarium.

Worked over a year now, good materials but the container is very fragile, feeding interval for 3 times feeding is not appropriate unless you keep you lights on 18 hours a day, no way to mount so it has to sit on a flat surface, if you have a opentop aquarium this is not going to help you. Basic feeder for the price if it is on sale.

The picture of this feeder is a bit deceiving. I was under the impression that it had a programmable timer because it shows what looks like a timer on the side. It turns out that it is just a picture of a clock imprinted on it near the little lights. The lights are there to indicate how many times a day you want your feeder to dispense food into the tank. When you put the batteries in, you need to choose once, twice or three times a day. Whatever time you set it up is the time that it feeds, so if you want your fish fed at 5pm, you need to set it up at 5pm. If you choose a twice a day feeding at 5pm, it will feed once at 5pm and the second feeding will be 8 hours after that. I did not try the three times a day setting.I do like the size of it as it is not too tall and will fit under my tank hood. I did not try it with an air line attached, so I can't comment on that.Cheaper than PetSmart and probably worth the low price, but I prefer the kind that you can actually set the time on it. If I were to forget to set it up at the correct feeding time and had to leave on vacation, my fish would just have to get used to a new feeding time for however long I am gone.

Not a bad product. Construction seems quality enough. I have a ten gallon tank with a few fish. It was hard to get the right amount set with a small tank. On the smallest setting if you have less than 4 small fish it's too much food. Removing the tab for flake food (per instructions) did actually improve the portions. I tested ten rotations with and ten without. Without the tab it was much more even portions. Only real complaint is that your supposed to line up the barrel with the logo on top but after a rotation it doesn't quite make it back around and every time it goes off it returns to the same spot so it's 100% rotation just misaligned more of a looks thing than functional. Basic programming is nice no clunky buttons set it once at 9 am you have food at 9 am every day. They seem to recognize the sound and actually swim to it as soon as it goes off. Have not had any moisture problems. Had a problem getting airline on it not a tapered connection fixed by putting it on my gang valve first to stretch it then on to feeder. After about a month the tab broke on the canister and would not spin around very weak plastic. Not bothering with warranty as next one will break just as fast.

This feeder will definitely get the job done and is very reliable. The only thing I don't like is that if you need to change the batteries or reset the feeding schedule, you must do it at the very same time you want the first feeding to take place. You can't set it at 9am to feed at 5pm. If you want it to start feeding at 5pm, then you need to be around to reset it at 5pm. That's the only drawback. Otherwise it works well and the batteries last a long time before needing changing. I would recommend the purchase of this product.

This works, nothing fancy, but easy to set. As others have mentioned a clamp system would have been nice.If you want to test it, push the feeding time buttons and it will rotate the drum so you can see how much food it will dispense without having to remove the batteries.ie, put the batteries in after you have loaded the food. Press the one feeding button.. the drum will rotate. To try it again, press the 2 feeding button, it will rotate again, press 3 feeds it will rotate again. After your done testing, set to the feeding you want (it will rotate again) then you are done.As with most of these types of units the amount of food is not precise from rotation to rotation due to the varying size of the food particles. Make sure the food is at the end of the drum where the dispensing happens after you load it up.One Con is that the battery compartment was not manufactured too well. normally if you have a spring on the negative side of the battery and a flat post connection on the positive. This unit has one of the AA batteries set up properly but the other has the + connection facing the spring. It only works if you put the battery in this way but be sure it is connecting. I think this may be the reason some have said "did not work out of the box", it was due to the awkward post connections for the batteries.

Although the interface is very simplistic, it is very accurate and functional. The only con I have about the setting up of the feedings is to set it, you need to push the button at the time of the 1st feeding of the day, you cannot set up the feeding schedule for feedings from the middle of the day type thing if you are doing multiple feedings. Here's what I mean. It has 1 button. You put in the batteries and it's ready to be set. You push the button once, and the once a day feeding light flashes. Push the button a 2nd time, and the twice a day feeding light flashes. Push the button a 3rd time, and the 3 times a day feeding light flashes. When it's once a day, it does it every 24 hours. Twice a day, 8 hours between feedings. And three times a day, 6 hours between the 1st and 2nd feedings, then 6 hours between the 2nd and 3rd feedings. If you were to set a multiple feeding schedule in the middle of the day, you would have to keep this in mind. There is no displayed time or anything like that, just a light and button. I like that it has an attachment for air hookup to keep the food dry. And something else that's really great about it is when it spins to drop the food, it shakes as it spins so the food gets loosened up so the food drop is consistent. And the container that holds the food is large so no worries about running out of food. This is a great product and highly recommend it!!!

Mine appears to be defective. After setting it all up I watched it for two days and it never did anything. The manual feed worked and that was it. Overall I give it two stars total, assuming mine is defective and this is not normal quality for Hydor as I use many of their other products. It has many undesirable and missing features when and if it does work. The cool feature is the way it shakes as it spins. It sort of acts like sprinkly food into your tank. The actual timer is useless and utter garbage. You DO NOT set a specific feeding time. When you set it up, that is the time it feeds everyday. SO if you set it up at 1:30p and want to feed your fish at 8a forget it. That's not how it works. You HAVE to set it up and insert the batteries at 8am to do that! It feeds everyday at the same time you set it up so in my case if it was 1:30p. There are 3 programs available. 1/day every 24 hours or at 1:30p in my example. 2/day the first feeding at 1:30p and the next next 8 hours laters or 9:30p. 3/day, again using my example 1:30p, then 6 hours later at 7:30p and another 6 hours later at 1:30a. Not very useful, flexible or friendly to setup. Although I personally am not a fan of eheim products, their feeder is the only product I currently own and would recomend if you are looking for a feeder.

Actually i don't know what to say...,The feeder looks nice, the wheel turns with steps "turns" so the food get some mixed movement, but i don't know if i am doing good the thing..,the instruccions says "that will be a blinking led, every 5 sec, showing you the choosen program" the thing is, that the first feed its when you start the program (pressing the only button) but after that, it keep blinking but its shutdown in 5 or 6 hours, and the feeder goes OFF,I changed the batteries but the problem still ocurrs, i don't know if the the feeder its broke, or its my fault, i dont know i will keep trying working on it and i will update my review if something change.
