I am extraordinarily disappointed with this product. The Ibanez M522S F Style Mandolin with Tuner and Stand was what I determined, after significant time researching, to be a fine beginner mandolin. You get what you pay for, true, but this was a bit more expensive than a $100 mandolin. I found the mandolin to be unplayable, so I took it to a professional luthier who told me that the nut wasn't fitted deep enough into the fret board making it nearly impossible to play strings on the first fret. Then, he indicated that he'd have to file some of the frets because any sounds above the 5th fret were not ringing and clear. The intonation was good, but otherwise, I've had to spend an additional $150.00 to have this instrument set properly. Also, note that I've known my luthier (who is a technical worker/builder of all stringed instruments) for many years and he's worked on my guitars and basses. He's one of the best. If you can, consider carefully how much you want to spend before embarking on any mandolin over $100-150.
