These are way stronger than another pair of cleats I have. I really like the strap that goes across the top of your boots that hold them where they are supposed to be, and the toe part is heavy duty and keeps them from falling off. The steel cleats on the bottom look strong, and are not too long so walking isn't a problem. There are also rubber bumps on the bottom to help. Very good value.

As I get older I've experienced my fair share of slips and falls on the ice. It is hard to imagine putting a price on safety. The cost of head injuries, broken limbs or hips is astronomical. Even the largest size and most expensive option that these come in are but the smallest fraction of just one of those horrible events. I very much wish something like this was around when I was younger. Some of those injuries just never fully heal. Prevention in this case is worth way more then a pound of cure.

I bought these for a recent trip to canada and they do the job! I saw a couple cleats over there priced at $30, and they looked just like these. Sturdy, easy to put on the shoes, and have a very good grip. Ideal for an icy trip to Canada on this weather, I was able to go on a couple hikes without falling, which for me is natural as I'm very clumsy. Lightweight and easy to pack, I had no issue when going through TSA either. Would definitely recommend!

These things are a real game changer if you enjoy hiking or do things like logging for a living. These have amazing grip! They will keep you on your feet and off the ground for sure! Forewarning though, if you have hardwood floors, do not walk on them with these on! We learned that the hard way and now have tiny holes littering the floor. I'm glad we were planning on redoing them, but I figured I provide that bit of information for anyone who gets these. These are truly an amazing product, and they work way better than I ever thought they would.

Offers perfect slip protection and grip. will have to see about long term durability, but so far so good.

I'm in the middle of a polar vortex and there is ice everywhere. These could not have arrived at a better time! I like that these crampons are super lightweight, easy to stuff into a hiking pack or glove box of a car, and fold into tight spaces. They grip on to most of my shoes easily and keep me from sliding around and/or falling. I recommend!

I can’t say I expected this to be as good as it is. Snow shoes are uncomfortable. But this option allows someone to wear their favorite outdoor shoes and have the option to convert them easily. The strap fits snug and the spikes give amazing traction. The price of this product is very reasonable. The material is rugged and seems it will hold up very well.

Update: After giving these to my dad for his birthday and feeling confident they were heavy-duty and high quality, all my hopes were dashed when the first one broke while putting it on his size 9 boots(!!!), which should have certainly been compatible with these size large cleats. I'm very disappointed that they broke just trying to get them mounted onto his boots, especially since he was excited to try them out and thought they were a great idea. They don't appear to have any kind of warranty, which is not a good sign, but I wanted to update my review to reflect that these are not as high quality or durable as I thought when I received them. I'm very disappointed and have updated my rating to reflect the lack of durability.Original Review: I have used YakTrax and another "no-name" brand of ice cleats, but they are much heavier-duty feeling than either of those. The YakTrax I had broke after several months, and while the 2nd pair I tried has held up better, I'm still skeptical because the rubber part that wraps around your boot/shoe is still pretty thin. I know it's only a matter of time before it's going to break. These cleats have thicker rubber, especially over the toe which *should* make them a lot stronger.I ordered these for my 70+-year-old dad since he's the only one in the family who still doesn't have any, and now that I see how nice they are, I'm a little jealous and thinking about ordering a pair for myself. The rubber straps on these are not only thicker but feel more pliable than the ones I have, so the risk of them tearing should be much less. Of course, only time will tell, but out of the package, these have a lot more heft than YakTrax or my current cleats. The metal spikes are also more heavy-duty, so I'd recommend not wearing them indoors on delicate flooring (like wood) since they'll definitely leave a mark.In addition to the spikes, there are grippy rubber nubs along the bottom that should help keep the cleats balanced and provide some added traction. The straps aren't attached to the cleats but are easy to loop through to fix over the toe of your shoe or boot. The velcro they used isn't the most robust, but if you have the right size cleats, it should be more of a stabilizer than something that's doing the bigger job of keeping the cleat fixed to your footwear. That's done mainly by the rubber tightly wrapping around and sticking to your shoe. Even so, I think a "stickier" velcro would have worked better here. All in all, these are nice cleats that should be long-lasting. I will update if I'm wrong about that, but I'm pretty optimistic. I prefer them to the YakTrax and the other brand I've tried because they look and feel heavier just *feel* higher quality. They'll definitely provide some peace of mind knowing that my dad will be able to keep his feet firmly on the ground in harsh winter weather rather than risking an unnecessary fall.
