As a senior citizen, I feel safe when walking in snow or ice now that winter has returned. They are adjustable to fit different boots, and will last much better than the plastic ones.

I live on an acreage, and ice can make doing my livestock chores more than a little dangerous (as demonstrated by the fact I fell on ice twice in a week and a half). I bought these cleats, and now doing chores is a breeze. Even when I'm unbalanced by carrying a single bucket of water, I can walk on ice with confidence. There is just enough stretch for the cleats to slip over my shoes with ease, but they do not move around once I have them on. I could not be more pleased.

These are my fav ice cleats that I’ve tried as I believe the spikes help give the most traction when walking on ice. I’ve had the coil kind too, but they are inferior to the spikes. This is my second pair as my first pair I had for a couple years, but I walk my 110 pound fur baby twice a day, even in winter, so I certainly got my money’s worth. I am def walking with a lot more confidence with these on, but caution still needs to exercised as no ice clear is 100% guaranteed to not slip here and there. If you need extra traction walking in icy conditions, get these!

The best cleats I have used on my boots. I wish they were a little longer from toe to heal of the boot. It was a little hard to stretch them out over the heal of my boot. I wish they would pull up two cm higher on the heal.

I cant praise this item enough. Last winter I wore snow boots for our Midwestern winters. Even with nicely treaded snow boots I fell on the ice several times. I took my walking/hiking to the next level and bought these clamps. They fit perfectly over my hiking boots not my snow boots, but no problem. I wear Women's 8.5 boot and ordered appropriately to fit. They stretch over the hiking boots with perfection and easy to remove. I have more confidence and balance walking on ice and snow this year. I bought these from reading Amazon reviews. One review sold me: They have lasted for years. I ordered them right away. I've only had them for a week but the material(tough silicone? strong cleats) tells me they'll last. Fingers crossed.

I had a different brand, was wonderful, but slipped off my boot when the going got rough. Not mountain climbing (I'm in Chicago) but I totally could if I wasn't afraid of heights. So on the recommendation of a friend I picked these up. The frame fits perfectly as sized. It'd be almost impossible for these to slip off. I walked on pavement and ice as this is Chicago and am delighted by the performance of these spikes. Two outings and I could have sold five sets. I am in the field looking for wildlife and now I CAN look for wildlife instead of looking where I am walking. Took the husband on a hike tonight and prefaced the walk by saying, hey, we can order these for you. After a mile he said, go ahead and order me a set. I was able to chase after my beagle on ice. Did five miles ice/pavement today and no complaints/discomfort. If anything I feel I'm overconfident. HIGHLY recommend, as I said second purchase on order.

My husband and I bought these to wear over our boots when we recently went to Upper Michigan in the dead of winter. Some of our activities included the snowmobile races and hiking to see the ice cliffs by Lake Superior. We put these on in the parking lot to walk down the main road that was covered with snow packed down to almost pure ice........walked with zero slips anywhere. Then we trekked up a steep hill in heavy frozen snow to the ice cliffs....no problem here either. The cleats dug down into the ice and snow and provided stability every step. Just a couple things to note.....one of my cleats slipped down on my boot and my husband had to snug it back up. This happened a couple of times even though they were sized to my boot. When he ordered his, he ordered the size according to the chart and his was right on the border, so he ordered that size and when it came, it was too small and he had to send it back and order the larger size. So, the moral is: is you're on the size border, go up to the next size. These are a great bargain and we were impressed and so happy we had them. There is no way we could have completed these activities without them.UPDATE: I forgot to mention in my initial review that the straps on top of the cleats are really pretty useless, but that's apparently what a lot of buyers thought. I noticed on my pair that one of the straps was made much shorter than the other one and wouldn't even pull over to close because of the length. Plus, they're a little hard to figure out just HOW they're supposed to fasten. I actually had to put a twist in the one I used for it to work.

I loved these-- I strode along on sheer ice, hiking like a professional. Until one fine day when they unbeknownst to me broke. So as I was walking along one of the metal hook things hooked onto my other crampon and latched both my feet together.I fell and my feet were hooked together so I had the dangdest time figuring out what happened, why my feet were glued together, and how to get them separated and stand up!I had to take my hiking boots off in the snow, untangle the broken hook from the other one, take them off my boots and then put my boots back on, all while lying in the soupy wet snow with a throbbing knee and hip and chin from how I fell.NOT a happy hiker.I realize this happening would be a one-in-a-million odds type of thing, but now Im afraid to wear crampons. I am also afraid to NOT wear crampons when hiking in the winter.Now I walk like a frightened, brittle old lady WITH crampons OR WITHOUT them. Blast it all!

I've tried others attachable ice cleats like this before from a local hardware store, but found that they didn't fit over my shoes very well. Since my wife's shoes are narrower, she has tended to use them instead. That left me slipping around all last winter. So, during my annual preparation for Michigan winter planning session, I decided enough was enough and purchased these. Having tried them on today, they fit absolutely perfectly as per the sizing charts and I can't wait to get to try them out! After trying to slip them off my shoes on carpet, I am confident in their sturdiness and that they won't slip off. The design is also such that they essentially strap over the top of a shoe.
