I got this ICE CO Slim 72mm MC ND64 Neutral Density Filter because I want to achieve different effects in my photos, especially photos of waterfalls and other scenes with moving water. This filter is a good choice for scenes where a fairly small amount of blurring of movement is desired. I hadn't had any chances to try it since I got it, so when the wind picked up on the lake where I am staying, I jumped at the chance. The two attached photos were both taken using the same lens at f16, ISO 400. The first was taken without the filter with a shutter speed of 1/200s. For the second, I used the filter, which allowed me to reduce the shutter speed to 1/3s. I got a subtle blurring effect without any obvious visual distortions. There is a slight color cast with the filter, but this is common with ND filters; with this filter it is no worse than many more expensive filters and can easily be corrected by adjusting the white balance. The filter uses multi-coating like higher cost filters, and the aluminum frame appears to be high quality and threads smoothly onto my lens. I like this filter because it combines good function with a good price; I feel it deserves five stars.

I've been seeing ICE filters for a while now and this is my first one. The multi coatings keep flares and ghosting to an undetectable level and contrast and sharpness is not impacted. It's perfect for shots of waves and waterfalls and any other moving objects that you want to blur pleasingly when the light is fairly strong. It's also great for shallow depth of field shots in stronger light when you are at the lowest ISO and shutter speeds are maxing out. I'll be getting more ICE filters now that I've seen their quality.
