Use method and precautions

This is a review for Immersion Water Heater 2000W Portable Bucket Heater Stainless Steel Guard Anti-scalding Pool Heater for bathtubs,Camping,Portable Water heate Heat 5 Gallons of Water in MinutesI got this because I wanted to occasionally use my ice plunge bath as a heated bath. This thing works well for that, as it is just a giant aquarium heater. I did not have any problems heating the water, and it did not catch fire as another review mentioned. I would suggest though, that you unplug the device and remove it before you or your pet get into the water, as electricity and water can be a bad combo.Overall, I am pleased with this, and may order a second one to heat up the water quicker

After a few minutes it caught fire. Luckily we were still outside and near the water trough. Our Dogs could've been hurt or our deck next to it could've caught fire. Not happy at this time with product the reviews were great but my experience was horrible

At 2000 Watts it really gets water heated fast. Simple to use, just make sure it's fully submerged.

It didn’t heat up our outdoor spa, but I feel like I would need at least two or three in order to do that. We ended up paying to fix the heater on ours and returned this.

I ordered this after our water heater went out on us, and we were waiting for a new one. This was a nice way to get water in the bathtub hot enough for a comfortable bath. I was worried about safety so I still used a bucket to heat the water but it was better than boiling water on the stove and carrying it up the stairs to the bath tub!

We ordered this immersion heater to heat water for bathing a pet. It heats pretty fast and comes with a digital thermometer. We found that it heated the water warm enough in a short period of time and leaving it on and running, it heats the water too hot for this purpose. But, I could see it being it used to heat camping water if you have a generator for dishes or bathing. The reviews say that it can heat up to 165 degrees F. We just heated until it felt comfortable to us. For our purposes it seemed to work out just fine. We give it five stars.

This is a 2000 watt immersion heater and it can be dangerous! Please read enclosed instruction manual carefully and follow instructions. Besides getting burned or causing a fire a device like this can cause electrocution so don't be foolish with this piece of equipment. Children should not use or be around this device period! This product is designed for fresh, clean water so you shouldn't use with brackish or saltwater.With these caveats in mind this is a handy product with proper use and care. The promotional headline, in bold typeface, says it can "heat" a 5-gallon bucket of water in minutes! Not sure what the definition of "heat" is in this context. However, if you read the fine print you discover it has a thermostat that automatically shuts off when the temperature reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit.Hmm..? I guess if you happen to be on the summit of Mt Everest you could "boil" the water at 165 degrees Fahrenheit but down here at sea level water boils at 212 degrees Fahrenheit. So whatever "heat" means it doesn't mean boiling!Nevertheless, 165 degrees Fahrenheit is plenty hot for my purposes. In my test I used a 3-gallon plastic bucket of tap water that was 64 degrees at the start and it took a half hour to get up to 140 degrees. Quite a "few minutes" but was good enough for me so I'm happy. Just be aware of the product limitations.It seems fairly well built with a 16 gauge, grounded cord.
