I normally hate gadgets but this is cute, easy and it WORKS! My kids love rice for lunch. I make a big pot for dinner then make the rest in these cute little shapes. It takes seconds to make a whole container full! Better than cutters because you push the bottom up on these to compact the rice into perfect tight shapes. They don't fall apart! Pack in lunches with amino sauce and some veggies and you have an easy healthy lunch. We bought these as stocking stuffers for cousins and they love it too!

We just used regular rice, brown and white, and were very happy with the results. We tried the sticky rice and it held even better to the point of being able to pick it up to eat it. Just pack what ever rice you use in firmly. You could even make a whole batch up ahead and place in refrigerator to make prep time faster. The mold is fast to use as well as easy. We started to color the rice to add more color to the lunch. Very fun very appetizing. quick clean up. Will be ordering more.

These are not well made and do not produce nicely-shaped sushi balls. They might be okay for your kids to put play doh in or something but not for rice.

It's so convenient to make rice balls. All I need to do is to load the rice, close the cover, press the bottom and then push them out. The bottom is removable, therefore making it very easy to get rice balls out.I've tried making rice balls by hand as I've seen in the Japanese TVs, but most of times the rice is too hot and sticky, making every experience a little complicated. But now with this little helper, making rice balls is so much easier and fast. This mode is quite small. I can pack 6 or so in a 13 oz bento lunch box. Probably about 1 cup of sushi rice from rice cooker. I've also tried making bear eyes and noses by cutting seaweed sheet. They look adorable. Would recommend it.

This was very easy to use, and came with three parts. You have to pack the rice down tightly to have good definition and help hold the shape. Sticky rice is best. Overall, cute idea to change things up!

I used these little molds with Jasmine rice (packed tightly) and it worked like a charm (please see my uploaded picture). I used my Nori cutter () in conjunction with these shapes to make them more attractive. The molds are very easy to use: Insert the shape in the mold, pack with rice, turn over onto plate, voila. Each shape is approximately 2 inches wide and 1.5 inches deep. For the price you can hardly go wrong. These are lots of fun, especially if you have children (I bought them for myself, I guess I am still a child at heart).

This mold is really great for making cute shapes out of rice, and I find that it does the job exceptionally well. It's easy to put the rice in and pop the rice back out. On the downside, the bottom of this mold contains a loose cover, which I find falls out of the mold really easy, so I always have to pick it up and put it back into the mold...very frustrating! Bad design >.

This is a perfect little rice ball maker. The mold is easy to use -- just scoop in the rice, put on the lid, and squeeze the bottom to make perfectly shaped rice balls. The rice slides out easily and keeps the shape very well. I don't even have to be perfect about filling the mold, it works even if some rice is over the edges. I just have to wipe off the extra grains before refilling it. The rice balls hold together best if I use sticky rice (Japanese, sushi, cal rose, etc), and they hold together in a bento/lunch box even if an energetic 5 year old boy is carrying it. I was able to use it to make shapes with non-sticky basmati rice, but they do crumble apart as soon as a fork touches them. It is also easy to clean and I have been able to put it in the top rack of the dishwasher without any trouble.
