I had not seen these before, but it is really necessary. I have three vehicles and each uses a different socket on the brake caliper. I have a socket rail where I bought just the right socket for each vehicle. I love that this one set gives all the variations you could need. These are very high quality, and a good value over doing like I did before buying each part separately. This layout makes it very functional. I hate taking sockets out of a larger set when working on a brake job then going to need that later and find its not there. I like to keep all the brake parts together in one tool drawer, so this is perfect for me.

Most brake calipers can be completely removed with a standard socket set.... 12mm, 14mm, 17mm, or an 18mm. However there are THOSE manufacturers that decided to use odd ball bolts. I'm looking at you VW, Audi, Porsche, BMW, and some Chrysler products! If you work on these you will KNOW that hex bolts are one thing and most people have those but those stupid triple square sockets and spline drive sockets... Not many tool kits have those too. This kit includes the more common triple square and spline drive sockets as well as the common DEEP hex sockets and larger ones too for some caliper brackets.The sockets fit perfectly and are definitely durable and impact rated! The METAL latch on the case is awesome! NO plastic latches that break! The latch functions perfectly and will keep the box shut without snapping off like the plastic latches do! The storage case is quite nice and keeps the sockets from falling out of place!For the price IF you need to work on those odd ball brakes you CAN'T go wrong!! This WHOLE kit cost about the same as ONE socket from your "tool guy"!

1 Star!!! Kit arrived incomplete, tried to re-order and the order was cancelled. Completely worthless!! Organizing case uses a plastic folding hinge that is worthless versus a pinned hinge that lasts. Price point is considered stupid high for this partial kit!!

This kit has potential I use the hex bits quite often but it’s extremely inconvenient to switch between tools in the middle of a job to find the correct socket that is listed in the packaging. I’m not sure if any of the spline bits are correct or not have not used them yet
