Works great. I compared this to the ones I've been buying and it puts out the same amount of heat, and costs less money. I don't have chickens or anything, but I use this type of heat lamp to keep my well house from freezing and to keep pipes under my bathroom (in my 100 year old house) from freezing. It won't be cold enough to have to use it until next winter but I went ahead and put it in one of the fixtures I have and compared it side by side with another 150 watt unit, and it works exactly as advertised.

What I love most is that it provides a steady, gentle warmth without drying out the air or making it too hot. My chickens seem way more comfortable now, and I’ve noticed they’re a lot more active, even when it’s cold outside. Plus, I feel a lot better knowing they have a warm spot to retreat to.One thing to keep in mind is that it does take a little time to reach the desired temperature initially, but once it’s up and running, it does a great job. I also appreciate that it’s energy-efficient, which is always a plus.Overall, I’d recommend this infrared heat lamp to any chicken owner looking to keep their flock cozy during the winter months. It’s been a solid investment for us!

Unfortunately for us this light gets a little bit hotter than we need ed for our setup. I also don't feel very comfortable in general with infrared lights just because they can cause fires and most things in a coop are flammable including the chickens or ducks themselves!

This heating lamp bulb was warm instantly, and felt great- so I’m sure the chickens will love it!I put it in my reading lamp to try, and didn’t want to get up! It was warm and comfortable without getting hot. It’s boasts a 5000hr life, and worked great for the hour I sat underneath it. The red light isn’t as harsh as other heating bulbs and didn’t affect my eyes a much. I found it more comfortable than glaring. It’s going to be great for the coop in the winter to take the edge off!Overall it’s a higher quality bulb than those I’ve used in the past, and a nice buy!

Works great. I just got some chicks in, and was using a 250W bulb and it was overkill! Got this 150W infrared light and it's much more suited for the brooder. The temps finally dropped down to the temperature I needed it at, a solid 95-97 degrees the first week. Raised it up and it's keeping it about 87 now in the second week depending on how warm my room is. Build seems solid, price is about the same you'd find at the feed store, and it works as it needs. No burn out after 4 days, will see how longevity proves with this lamp. I'm weaning the chicks off the light so they can transition to using their brooder plate to save money on electric bill. I would recommend using this lamp for brooding chicks.

This infrared heat lamp for chickens by DaToo was shipped quickly and should work well for baby chicks. It functions as it should and heats up the brooder area toasty warm. I don’t have a new batch of chicks right now, so I don’t have a photo yet, but I will update when I do have them. It’s a quality energy efficient lamp and should last through several seasons, and all of my chickens will appreciate the added warmth the next winter. The heat lamp would also work to keep puppies or kittens warm if they can’t be with their parents for any reason. (Keeping the lamp at a safe distance in a confined area) There might be other uses for this heat lamp indoors as well.

I have tested this light in 6 different screw-in outlets, but this bulb does not turn on in any case (even in a regular table lamp base). There is not visible exterior damage, and I've even tried shaking it to see if I can hear loose/broken pieces. It simply does not light up or heat up.

I ordered this 150 watt light because my chicks are avoiding too much of their crate because of the intensity of their 250W light, even when I raise it high above them. They still don't go directly underneath the light but their "semi-circle of warmth" is not nearly as far away now.Quickly searching on Amazon, this light is at a great price point for a single bulb. Multi-packs can be cheaper, but if you only need one there is no bulk savings. Speaking of price, the manufacturer states this bulb lasts up to 5000 hours. I've seen bulbs that claim between 2000-8000 hours so be sure to compare apples to apples.Functionally, the bulb warms extremely fast and provides a perfect amount of heat. The dimpled lens diffuses the light (hard to capture in the pictures but the light is balanced and projects a pattern) and seems sturdy and durable enough to be knocked around when cleaning. The red lens minimizes glare and softens the intensity of the light, which stays on above my chick's crate 24/7 for weeks. Always use red imo.I recommend this light if you need something gentler than a 250 or 300 watt bulb and want to save some electricity while your chicks feather out. I took a star off because the light is working great, but something rattles round inside when you shake it, but it hasn't effected the performance at all.
