The safe is sturdy, big enough to hole 2 full size handguns, magazines, ammo, and holsters. The safe CODE works every time, but the fingerprint reader/biometric access works 1 out of 100 times. It’s worse than cell phone biometric capabilities from 12-15 YEARS ago. Since it rarely works…might as well spend the extra cash on a bigger safe without this horrible feature.

Likes the fact you can program the lock to open only with an authorized fingerprint.I have stored my husband's registered hand guns and ammunition in it so young grandkids cannot open the safe if they happen to find out where we hid it.

I did a lot of research on small sized safes, They all can be broken in too it seems, some easier than others. I went with this unit because I couldn't find any video's ..yet .. to deny its functionality, besides negative reviews were non existent until just recently. Anyway I looked for a safe with at least a 4.5 star rating, one that had a fingerprint window and one that had an illuminated keypad. I went for it, now its sitting in a secure place and I feel my firearm is better protected than sitting in a dresser drawer. Safes are an added level of security that's all.I suggest to look at their video to get a better perspective of the design.Bottom line .... its a great product for the cost.

Biometrics do not work. I programmed in my fingerprint, I was able to open it with every finger on my hands, my daughters and grandsons as well, digits were in programmable. Sad

I would even say an exceptional value for the price. OF COURSE - anyone with a sledge hammer, crow bar or power tools can make ANY safe under a couple hundred bucks in to mince meat. That's NOT the point of this safe. It keeps firearms out of the hands of kids and nosey, unwanted house guests. If you want to prevent anything from happening to your contents - including fire, then spend $5k on a fireproof, waterproof safe with 1/2 steel walls.Super fast shipping from Eylar. I also have a high quality portable gun case from them. This safe arrived in 3 days over a weekend and arrived in great condition, good working order. Good quality build; hefty and sturdy. Shelf is a bit off and wobbly - but it's a shelf. The door, steel latches of good quality.Regarding the biometric, finger print scanner. It seemed a little finicky at first. So here are some tips. Watch the video and become familiar with the steps to program: your pass code, your fingerprints and recommend changing the admin code. It took a few minutes of practice to learn the sequence. Then, getting your print scanned (more than one, plus someone else in the household - your wife/spouse for eg.)requires some repetitive steps. Recommend recording one single finger at least 6 times. I'd say fairly common thing with biometrics - the electronics has to "learn" - the more chances you give the technology to recognize your finger, the better it will perform. There are some 32? possible scans, so take advantage - 2 persons, 2 fingers each, 8 example scans for each finger... ANYONE who says anyone including the dog and baby jr. can open it with their finger or paw.... is still operating in demo mode... c'mon, take the time to understand the instructions! Another tip on getting your fingerprint scans and getting the best possible results. When I initially setting up the safe and recording the scans and codes, the safe was on my desk. But that's not where the safe was going to reside. I put it up on the shelf in the closet which was now just above my head level. Well, now the angle and pressure my figure was putting on the scanner was just different enough that caused inconsistent readings and failed openings. I reprogrammed my finger prints (2 different) in the safes final resting location, and now safe opens every single time. All in all, I'm quite happy with this purchase. I'm certain if one takes the time to learn the sequence, process and spends some time getting to understand how it all works - this safe should do the trick. I know have 2 handguns, a number of magazines - and now my wife's jewelry and other home valuables.
