These Intermatic timer switches work great while they're working, but I've yet to have one last more than two years. I have five timer switches in my house (all small loads - 3 bathroom fans, garage vent fan, 1/10hp circulating pump) and I've had to replace every one of them because the electronics inside stopped working for no apparent reason. I've replaced some of them more than once. I finally started using the Leviton timer switches instead and none of them have failed.

Fairly easy to install, 20 minutes by husband (not electrician) and so convenient for the bathroom fans!

The timer for my Quiet Coolhouse fan failed. Saw this and although it has shorter run times than my original i decided to purchase it. Since I had a similar one previously, the installation was simple. It took less than 15 minutes to install and have my fan up and running again. While the shorter run times is a small negative, in the long run it may save on my electrical bill.

I have used these for years to control bathroom exhaust fans (so they can eliminate moisture from the air for a while after the shower is done, but not be left on forever) and in our garage (so we can turn the light on when going out in the evening, and the light will turn off by itself). I think they are the most convenient design of the timers out there. I've never had one fail on me!

I just installed this in my bathroom to control my exhaust fan, and I am happy to report that it works perfectly. I was surprised to learn that some timers do not properly operate exhaust fans, so I got this one because it states that it is specifically for use in exhaust fans.Install was straight forward and took about 30 minutes. Most of the time was spent getting everything back inside the conduit box. I just barely made it work. Like most specialty switches, this one is rather bulky. My house has very old, small metal boxes. If you have the same problem and can't get everything to fit, you have a couple options. You can get an extender plate that makes the faceplate stick out a little from the wall or you can remove the old box, cut the hole a little bigger, and install a larger remodeler conduit box. This would be a reasonable project for a competent DIY'er, but, as with everything electrical, if in doubt, call a pro.Anyway, I am a happy camper. I can vent my bathroom without forgetting to turn off the fan and wasting heat. I own a couple of apartments, and I will be installing these in them also.

Works great, easy to use. I have only had it in place for about a month but have had no issues so far. This replaced a mechanical timer switch that would get stuck at certain points on its rotation, so this electronic option is a much better fit for my needs.Installation is slightly more difficult than some standard switches. This switch (because it is electronic in nature) requires the neutral (usually the white wire) to be connected along with the hot wire (usually the black wire) where simple flip switches generally just interrupt the hot wire. This switch also requires you to know which wire leads from the source (your power box) and which wire goes to the load (the device that you want switched) which in my case was a ceiling fan. None of this stuff is hard to figure out, but if you are an electrical novice you might want to have some backup from someone who understands AC house wiring and can help you figure out what goes where (this is really simple for anyone who has home AC wiring experience).

After much searching and reading many reviews, I finally decided to order this switch. It works perfectly for controlling my bathroom fan. The time settings work perfectly for my needs and installation was fairly easy. I did need to remove my old switch to ensure I had a neutral wire buried in the box (which I did). It does not sit quite flush in my box, but that is masked by my switchplate cover.Quiet operation and easy to use and certainly worth picking up for the cost. I have definitely noticed less of a musty odor in the bathroom now that I run my fan for a longer time. (I usually let it run 20 minutes past when I am done showering)
