We wanted a pool for the grand kids. Something relatively easy to set up and hopefully last at least one Summer. Our neighbor (in relative terms) has a fairly large above ground pool that appeared in one day so I decided to ask him about his. It was an INTEX rectangular shaped and he literally had it up and filling within 6 hours (counting ground prep).For our uses we went with the INTEX 15' by 48" (ages 9, 8, and 4). Price was good compared to the really cheap pools and outstanding compared to other brands for this size. When it arrived I was a little intimidated by the weight but a hand cart solved that problem and once it was in the back yard it remained where I left it. First thing to note is that the outer box is a protective layer and did it's job.Inside the second box everything was wrapped separately and the wrapping was excellent. I laid the parts out as per the multi-language instructions and discovered a DVD no less. The DVD was an awesome addition and after watching it I mostly ignored the paper instructions. Again, the individual packaging was excellent and all the parts were included (happily).Leveling the ground took about a half yard of sand (brought in with my small pickup truck). I laid the tarp out (included) and unfolded the pool letting the sun warm the plastic in 10-15 minute blocks to make it more pliable and for me to catch my breath. I'm 66 and have Asthma so I'm a tiny bit slower than some.The truth is I was amazed at how fast this pool went up. After laying it out, I slipped the top together in about 45 minutes (a younger man could half that). The upright poles went in half that time. I used a push broom from outside the pool to pull the bottom wrinkles out. Counting the leveling, bottom tarp, unfolding the pool and set up, it took me about 3.5 hours. The kids, still in school when I started, literally came home to a pool full of water!The best part is everything and I mean everything (except chemicals) came with this pool, including the cover. Considering the price my oldest son paid for his first above ground pool I saved about 90% on the pool itself, and 100% on the accessories because he had to purchase everything else.By the way, my son was also impressed with the thickness of the pool walls and bottom compared to his (about equal).Can't say enough about this company's engineering, packaging and product. There were also extra fasteners, screws and nuts - can you believe it? Anyway, that's my review for what it's worth.

Sent this product for a Christmas present. Just warm enough to set it up. The side has pinholes in it that leaks! The filter also leanks

This was a great product at a great price. We got it primarily for our grandkids, but found that we love floating around by ourselves. The hardest part of the setup (and MOST IMPORTANT) is getting the area level. I used dirt instead of sand in case I removed the pool (you can't grow grass on sand). It worked fairly well, I should have compacted it a little better as I got about an inch of sag from west to east. This pool is not very forgiving on levelness as the water level must be kept about two inches from the top frame because of the high placement of the pump discharge line which, in my case, I happened to place on the highest point of the circumference. It is also very important to get the bottom smooth and keep it smooth and the legs straight as it is filling. Once your about 12" deep, you are not going to work out any creases in the floor. After the pool is full, it is nearly impossible to shift the legs if they are out of whack.It has been fairly easy to maintain with the included net and vacuum. Chemicals are important to regulate. I got a bottle of 50 pool and spa test strips that are very simple to use. With this hot summer, we have used this pool every day since we bought it.

What can I say.... The pool is a great bargin but be prepared to spend more money on a better filter. Filter that comes with the pool is garbage. My pool water looked like the hudson river in NY in no time. So back to amazon I go to purchase a sand filter that is capable of doing the job right.

I bought this pool mainly for the step kids. I rent so excavating for a pool was out of the question, and if I choose to move I don't need another thing to give away. The inexpensive pool was actually alot more stable and strong then it looks. Setup was a hassle, but only because of the crab grass in the yard. the actual setup time is very fast AFTER THE GROUND IS LEVELED. Let me warn you, you must level the ground expertly or the added stresses of the water on the frame will cause it to fail. I spent about a half a day leveling the ground even that wasn't perfect. I had a low area but it wasn't much. I also put patio block under each upright so they wouldn't sink into the ground and throw the pool out of wack. Also forget about the junky cartridge filter supplied with the pool. Do yourself a favor and buy a small sand filter, they are worth their weight in gold. All in all the pool is great for an inexpensive pool to cool off in. I would buy another in a minute. In fall you just empty it and take it apart.
