As any old RV user might experience the current shades can and do eventually rip. I had to happen with one of my strings, and if the string eventually goes through the entire Curtian, it's a total mess. This was a great and easy fix to get the string restrung through the curtain overall it's a pretty simple process to get it done. It takes a little bit of patience, but once it's really strong, it's pretty tight. The string itself is terrible as it is a woven polyester fiber which isn't easy to rip but they can have an overtime or on accident. The kit comes with everything you need, which is important as a little piece of sometimes can get lost.

The threading tool is a great time saver however the cord is thinner than I expected and thinner than my original cord. That said, after the repair it functions very smoothly and seems ok. Check your cord size but this kit will do in a pinch.
