Product Description

IronMind Tug IMTUG finger strengthener

Ever notice that your fingers differ in length and strength?

IronMind did and set out to design a sharp-looking little gripper that allows you to train your fingers one or two at a time, and unlike conventional hand grippers, it also allows you to train your thumb. Think of IMTUG as being like a tug boat—short, stout, powerful and irresistible—in your grip strength and hand health training program.

Perfect for standalone training or used in conjunction with Captains of Crush or Zenith grippers, also from IronMind.

Comes with complete training information.

Imagine: with IMTUG, you can target each finger individually to make it a worthy component of your total hand strength. As you strengthen your fingers, you improve the overall health and condition of your hand, increasing muscle balance, range of motion, and flexibility.

Use a different strength IMTUG depending on which fingers you are targeting:

ironmind thumb finger strengthener rehab

Thumb and Pinch Grip

weakest - use an easier IMTUG

IronMind Pinky Ring Finger IMTUG grip strengthner

Ring Finger and Pinky

moderate - use a medium IMTUG

IronMind middle index finger grip strength strengthener rehab

Middle and Index Fingers

strongest - use a tougher IMTUG

IMTUG don't use this way

Not a Conventional Gripper

IMTUG is not held in the hand like this!

You can train one or two fingers at a time, although we generally recommend training your ring finger and pinky together, not your pinky alone.

IMTUG Selection IronMind

Hand-in-Hand for a Grip with Guts

Pairing up your Captains of Crush Grippers and IMTUGs will add a whole new dimension to your grip training . . . first working on your hand as a unit and then hitting your thumb and fingers individually or in pairs.

Bought the # 3 and #4. If you have pretty good hand strength and can close a 1 or a 1.5, you may want to jump to the #4. #3 is a good warm up for you thumb and fore finger. The #4 is slightly harder but still can close this easily. Good for reps. I’m buying the #5 this week. If you can close the COC#2 jump to the IMTUG5. Incorporate squeezing a tennis ball when using this. Helped me get to the COC#2.0 doing this . I’m shocked how much I like these little guys!

Though I include forearm and grip strength training, generally not a fan of grippers. This shorter version, designed to target fingers and thumbs is an incredibly effective, extremely well made piece of equipment. I ordered #4, recommended, of 7 strengths, and certainly will purchase more.

This product is one of many offered by this company, it is truly the Gold Standard of finger Grip tools. Many sizes available. Product is well made and does not lose tension over time as many cheaper products of this type do. First rate product, and the Company has first rate customer service. A must have tool for anyone serious on improving finger strength.

This is for the level ONE device. What I needed, was to increase my strength between my thumb and index finger, in order to be able to grip and rack the slide of my brand spanking new,1911 pistol, where the slide was so stiff that it took two men and a boy to rack it out of the box. In short order, just doing lots of reps with the low tension spring helped me increase my grip so I could do what I wanted to. Sure, a stronger spring would be great for more strength if I wanted it, but this one works fine, plus, I can loan it out to my friends who plan on buying a 1911 as well, as it's perfect for beginners or just people who need to increase their grip 'just enough'. FWIW, I just carried it around with me all day, exchanging hands to give both hands exercise whenever I had a few spare moments.

Great compliment to using captains of crush. I can almost close a number 2 CoC but as soon as I use these things on my pinkie and ring finger I can’t budge them and it’s more a coordination thing than strength. I bought the 4 and 5 but in order to use an imtug for my pinkie and ring finger I reckon I need to go much lighter. I am possessed of small hands mind you so I’m no expert on other people but I literally cannot budge the suckers I own.

I own 3-6. 3 is good for warmup and working your thumb. 4 is useful for making ring+pinky stronger and its what helped me become strong enough to ring+pinky the 5. They definetly make your fingers stronger and they do it very quickly. The knurling on the IMTUGs seem sharper than the CoCs knurling. You get used to it. Product does what it says it does, makes your individual fingers stronger and helps you close the big grippers. I believe the IMTUGs helped me get to where I am now (2.5 CoC). I started using grippers in March and have no previous grip training. Planning to buy the 7 when I have ring+pinky closed the 6 for a few reps.

Every item sold by Iron Mind is the absolute best. These guys are deadly serious when it comes to harnessing the power of mind and body. Order the book “Mastery of Hand Strength” by John Brookfield and you will understand. If you’re willing to dedicate the necessary time and effort, you will be rewarded with the increased strength, stamina and self-confidence of an individual who has transitioned from a “weekend warrior” hobby of exercise to a lifestyle of disciplined training. It is so cool to feel and see the progress as you continue to train. It will give you a “spring in your step”, and you will find that you hold your head a little higher and carry yourself with a confidence that evokes respect from those you encounter. These guys are in a class of their own - “Old School” all the way!!!

I have continued to use numerous ironmind grippers to help rehab my right hand. I injured it while punching a wall like a immature dummy in my youth. It has greatly increased the muscle back into my hand and returned my grip strength. Actually, my greatest strength is much greater than what it was before my injury. I can't recommend these products enough for physical therapy or for attaining greater strength in your hands. It will also help stave off arthritis in your hands as you age. Super product.

I love CoC! Their products are very effective at making your grip strong, stronger, and strongest. Their IMTUG devices focus on specific portions of your hands and fingers, ensuring that the weakest part of your grip gets enhanced even further, so that it equals the dexterity you have in the stronger part.

Bought an imtug 2 and a 4, I use the 2 when I’m just sitting watching tv or carry it in my pocket and use it when I’m out and about as it’s not very difficult, then a 10 reps in 3 different grips of my 4 every few hours been using it for a week or so and I use it to mainly strengthen my pinky as I was struggling to fully close my coc grippers, so I thought strengthening the pinky would help and I actually fully closed my 1.5 thinking it was my 1 which I was having a hard(ish) time fully closing so I thought right, they’re great and very handy to carry around in a pocket compared to a coc and you can use different grips to work different muscles. I would recommend buying 2 different weights a higher and a lower.

This is a very useful hand grip strengthener because it is of the size that is ideal for training two fingers at a time. We have a set of the full hand COC hand grippers, going up to level 1, This is a nice addition that really lets you concentrate on a couple of fingers at a time and not an entire hand. My partner and I both use it and like it. I think it complements the elastic bands used for stretching out (expanding) the fingers and therefore working on another set of hand/arm muscles.
