I recently took a roadtrip to Las Vegas in my Tesla. The hotel I was staying at said they had a Tesla charger onsite but as it turns out, it was actually a SEMA Connect charger that requires an adapter. Since I didn't have one, I looked it up on Amazon and had them ship it to my hotel. It arrived the next day so I could charge up my Tesla so that I had enough juice to go find a Tesla Supercharger. The SEMA connect charger is pretty slow to be honest but it's nice to have an option if a SuperCharger isn't available.

This adapter came apart when I pulled it from the Tesla. Fortunately, I noticed the exposed electrodes before I electrocuted myself.

At first glance, it looks to be identical to the one you can get through Tesla. Even when it comes down to the weight of it. Upon further inspection, you'll find the various differences. Especially, when looking into each hole to find that the construction appears to be not as impressive to the eyes. That doesn't mean it isn't as effective at the charger though. Things look different between this and the one from Tesla, but I can't necessarily say that the quality is less than the other.It does seem to get the job done but we will have to see how it fairs over time and multiple uses. If anything, it could prove to be a great backup to the original or your primary go-to. If anything changes over time, we will have to come back and update with anything we've learned.One thing is for sure, no matter where you get this adapter (as long as it works), it's a must-have in your kits of adapters if you ever plan to be able to charge anytime from anywhere.**If you have found our review helpful, please vote it as helpful below so we know. Arrived promptly and in protective packaging. Doesn’t really work, can be unlocked.
