These things are sturdy. I was a little hesitant to trust them with so much weight, but the hooks are heavy duty ratchet strap style hooks, and I've never seen 1" webbing brake under a couple hundred lbs or less. The only place I could imagine failing is the buckles but as long as you click them in right they seem to hold just fine and I see no issue with the with good treatment. Be careful adjusting the tension that you don't accidentally unclip it trying to get leverage. The hooks seem strong enough, and go deep enough I'm confident in them.I really like that it comes in a pack of 4. So you can hang up 4 watercraft. Or what I did, was use one set for the wall to hang 2. and then used the other set as a harness to lift my kayak up to the ceiling and then drive under it to load it on my car solo. the second strap I just wrap around a second time as a redundancy and extra layer of protection.The one set has no issue holding my 12 foot kayak and 10 foot paddleboard.Easy to use, and super handy. I would recommend.

I got these kayak hanging storage straps because my original brackets weren't storing my kayak high enough off the ground. I used a different set of hooks that have non-slip padding on them instead of the standard metal hooks included with the straps. My photos are a bit messy because I only hung one kayak and then looped the excess straps up in a ball.One thing I really like about these is that it is possible to raise/lower the kayak while it is inside the loop. My husband & I put the straps on the largest setting then pulled at the strap to make the loop smaller, thus raising the kayak closer to the ceiling. The kayak is now exactly where I want it.I have gotten several kayak storage mechanisms over the years. The really expensive ones that use a pully system are the easiest to use but most difficult to put up. This strap system is my favorite: it is very easy to put up, not as easy to use, but so much cheaper than the pully systems.The instructions had a lot of information on putting the hooks into the joists but not a lot of information on how the straps were supposed to work. One of my straps had the order of the lower loops sewn incorrectly--the strap for the upper loop was sewn inside the lower loop instead of the outside like the other strap. Obviously this a quality control problem. The slips don’t come with clips so the ropes are hard to keep in place. Kayaks keep falling out.
