The main joint on one of the arms wasn't even welded. The other arm was welded, but only on one side and could easily snap. The quality of steel used was so flimsy that it almost felt plastic. They give you two wood screws to hold the brace to your wall and some plastic anchors if you can't find the stud in your wall. Neither would be adequate for holding a boat long term. Especially at the weight rating they advertise for this rack. The "adjustable" part would require you to unscrew bolts on either side of the rack to adjust it.It's basically junk. I don't think it would cost much more to make it the right way so it would hold up, but you definitely get what you pay for with this cheap rack. Actually, you don't, because mine was so defective, I couldn't even use it.

This works perfectly for what I need. It holds a fairly heavy kayak

Was able to hang on fence and face kayak either upward or downward (to keep any rain out). Would have liked straps to cinch it down too (gets windy here) , but that's okay.

SturdyThe only thing that they lack is some padding around the outside end - the unpadded end scratches the kayaks. Other than that I feel that they will do the job
