I’ve been loving Japanese bowls lately, traditional ceramics are too heavy and fragile for my family. The red isn’t as bright as in my photo, it’s more like the photo in the listing. It’s nicely textured both on the inside and outside, the Yamanaka coating makes it feel quite luxurious. The seller seems very sweet and I can feel their passion for delicious food, I hope some smaller sizes become available. Made in Japan makes a huge difference in quality, I’ll be using these every day!

They are indeed lightweight as the description says but they look nice and feel quality. They hold up fine in the microwave and dishwasher. Also I like they the fact that they would be very difficult to break. They are made in Japan which is a nice change of pace as well!

My wife and I both love ramen, from instant to homemade, from scratch. All of the other ramen bowls we have are ceramic, and I've been wanting to get some plastic ones that are better able to withstand the rigors of frequent use without the worry about a mishap and loss of one (or more!) of our beautiful ceramic bowls. These Japanese ramen bowls from Generic were a great choice. They look like ceramic but are much lighter, being molded plastic. Being made of plastic, of course, also means they're much less prone to breaking or chipping.The workmanship is first-rate, and the design is very pleasing to the eye. The color selection adds an element of beauty without being overstated and it really helps sell the "ceramic" look. The interior brick-red color compliments the colors typically found in a well-finished bowl of ramen. Surprisingly, for the light weight, heat retention is quite good - not like ceramic, but certainly more than adequate.The information sheet that comes with the bowls mentions only heating them in the microwave for a maximum of one minute, so they're best used for ramen prepared on the stovetop or otherwise heated separately. This is not an issue for us, since all of our ramen is prepared on the stove.I really like these bowls and will very likely be ordering a couple more sets.

These ramen bowls are very nice overall. They’re lightweight and look great, but just a heads-up—they’re made of plastic. If that bothers you, these might not be for you. That said, they hold up fine as long as you don’t absolutely blast them in the microwave. Perfect for casual use! Also dishwasher safe.

One thing I love about Amazon is that it enables entrepreneurs with a dream to open a shop and sell things that would be otherwise difficult to find.This is a great example. I was pleasantly surprised to find a note, printed on fancy-looking paper, from the seller talking about how selling these bowls were a fulfillment of a dream he had to share Japanese culture with the world.The bowls are impressive. They look and feel exactly like authentic Yamanaka-nuri lacquered bowls. The difference is that while traditional bowls is made from wood, these are made from composite plastic materials.However, they put what I believe is the same lacquer on the surface, so to a casual observer they're indistinguishable. There are even little indentations in the plastic to simulate wood grain.Their label is printed in Japanese, but here are some highlights I was able to translate: it's dishwasher and microwave safe, you shouldn't use plastic wrap on it, and don't heat it empty or for more than 2 minutes.Obviously these are no replacement for wood bowls, but for an everyday noodle bowl it's a nice size, a beautiful color, and puts you "in the mood" to eat noodles more so than the generic bowl you have sitting in the cabinet.Plus, it supports an enterprising entrepreneur in Japan. Highly recommended.

The bowls have a nice color and feel very authentic... they are perfect for a single serving a ramen with whatever toppings you want to include. I've also noticed that they seem to insulate a little better than normal bowls, keeping the noodles warmer longer. I am happy with the durability, I've been fairly rough with them and haven't seen them take any noticeable damage after a lot of use. Good bowls to have if you eat a lot of ramen!

Ramen bowls are just what I wanted! Perfect meal size and being that they’re made with the Yamanaka coating in Japan as opposed to the melamine from China, it’ll be a healthier benefit. Like lightweight and great for daily use.

I eat a lot of ramen so I wanted specific bowls for them. These ones are really nice for the price. I like the color scheme and the texture they have. Each bowl can hold a decent amount of ramen. They aren't prone to spilling but you can still easily drink from them. Microwave without issue too, and easy to clean. Would recommend!
