The opening in the main heat sheild, gaskets, and plates on this are noticeably smaller than the holes on a name brand gasket. It is also smaller than the hole on the intake manifold. I cannot imagine that this will not restrict airflow.The sheet of aluminum that the main shield was cut from had numbers stamped on it. When cut out these wound up in a very visible place on the shield. I had to scotchbrite the shield to remove them.EDIT: I installed this and it is in fact too small the allow the secondary blades to open. Buyer beware.

Have a 80s foxbody mustang with an Edelbrock carburetor that would become heat soaked on any drive longer than 5min. It would take a minimum of 10 min before the car would start again. This fixed the problem. I can drive an hour. Stop for something and restart the car immediately with no signs of it being heatsoaked. If you’re even a little unsure if you’re carb is getting too hot try this.
