Just does the job as it should. Fits perfectly in ADS brand pvc corrugated 3000 lb sewer and drain pipe. ( about $8.00 for 10. Ft).

Fantastic blast gates. I've found they fit into the 4" ducting available at the home centers without any clamps. Very convenient.

The price is great. The units although are plastic, seem to be rigid enough. I have not used them yet, but for what you pay, this will do the job. I'm a bit of a beginner on some of this, so maybe buy plastic now and if it meets the needs great, if not, upgrade to some aluminum ones.

I didn't want to spend too much on a collection system when there are still tools to buy that actually produce a project. It does the job, but it leaks a lot of suction and the gates fall. I ended up taping the gates to add some tension so they don’t fall closed.

Blastgates require periodic cleaning. Problem: chips collect in the two channels where the gate slides and as you close the gate, the chips get packed into the channels and the gate won't fully close. The metal version blastgate has screws and disassembles for cleaning. These plastic gates must be broken at the welds. Then what? Don't waste your money and time on these cheap plastic gates. For a few dollars more, the metal blastgates are well worth it as they are assembled with screws.

I have blast gates permanently mounted on my saws, and use the Jet quick-disconnect fittings and flex hose to connect the tools to the dust collector. Works great. Can't comment on the gate plugging as I never close it.
