This item is sturdy and seems well built, but I cannot get it to flex, so it's just like riding on a stiff straight pole seat.

This review is for the Suspension Seatpost 27.2mm 30.9mm 31.6mm Shock Absorbing Bike seat Post for MTB/Cruiser Bike/Gravel Bike/ebike, 350mm Length, 50mm Travel... Offered by the JFOYH Store.- This is a great replacement for the standard seatpost that comes with my MTB- It does make the seat sit a little bit higher, because of the shock mechanism. So keep that in mind for shorter riders.- Quality materials, should hold up well over time.- Easy install, no special tools other than an allen wrench.- Provides good shock reduction, rides are definitely more comfortable.- Worked well for me, so I can recommend this specific seat post.

Use Case- Secondary Mountain bike where dropper post is cost prohibitedWHAT I LIKED:- For a cruiser or a kids bike this would be great for those cases I would give 4 stars- On mixed use trails that you would go out on with the family this might save you some strain without losing power like you would with a front shockWHAT I DIDN'T LIKE:- No dampening, you are going to come up with whatever force is applied to that spring- Its pretty heavy, I thought about putting it on my gravel bike but it would add just so much weight- Some saddles are not going to fit right, or are going to be difficult to get on

Over the years I have had many different anti-shock seatposts. I got this seat post for my wife's bike. I have the very similar Taiwanese version of this product. I have tried ones that just have the spring without the rocking rollers and they just don't have the stability.

Note, the suspension mechanism adds height to the seatpost. If your current bike seat is at the lowest position, this seatpost cannot be inserted as far down. The mechanism is approximately 5 inches from where a seat attaches to where the lowest position possible on this seat tube (See photo).Installing the seat on the seat tube had a problem, because the wheel of the front adjusting screw was binding (See photo, Red arrow). This prevented turning the wheel to tighten the screw. After playing around with the seat attachment I got it to barely tighten down adequately. The suspension seatpost works, however, on my bike it didn’t make much difference. This is because the bike I installed it on has 15 psi fat-tires, and front and rear suspension. This suspension seatpost would likely be of more benefit when used on a hardtail bike with higher pressure tires.

I installed this on my old hard tail mountain bike. It really improves the feel of bumps and makes for a much cushier ride. I will say, if you bottom this thing out you really feel it. It doesn't really cushion if you bottom it out so its better for commuting and more relaxed trail riding than it is for jumps and such. Interestingly, this type of seat post suspension can reduce your pedaling efficiency while sitting so you should keep your tension setting as stiff as you can handle to reduce this effect.Overall, this is a good budget suspension seat post. Most higher end suspension seat posts are quite expensive and this is one of the more affordable options I've seen. The build quality is quite good considering the price and it definitely makes for a more comfortable ride. It would be nice to get some rubber pads to prevent a hard bottom out but if you want all the premium features then you've gotta pay the premium price. Its possible to get better suspension seat posts but this one is well made for the price. Would recommend!

I have an ebike that I ride quite extensively and fairly often. A normal ride for me is anywhere between 15-20 miles and sometimes, part of that ride may be on trails or off-road. My bike came with a shock built into the seat post but it never really worked well so when I changed my seat out, I just went with a normal, solid seat post. Some friends mentioned getting a true seat post shock, so I opted to try this one out - wow, was I ever so glad I did! This seat post shock is an absolute game changer for me and it will be for you too! I could not believe how much more comfortable and smooth it made my bike riding, it's incredible. Of course, I have a very good and comfortable seat but still, this shock has made even that better. The seat post shock is very easy to install and fits any seat which has what I would refer to as normal mounting. There are only two different sized Allen-head screws and they provide the correct size wrenches to loosen and tighten those screws. The shock can be installed on virtually any bike seat, whether it's a narrow, wide or somewhere in-between. One thing to be aware of, this shock will add 3-4 inches to your seat height, meaning, if you have your seat mounted as low as it will go on your bike, this shock will make it around 3 or so inches higher than that lowest point. This could be an issue for shorter riders so keep that in mind. My bike has the bigger tires and is tall to start with and I've had my seat positioned about an inch above the lowest point. This shock, added to my seat, which is thicker than most, is a bit tall for me but it's worth the trade off as far as comfort and smoothness. If you have enough height adjustment, you won't have any issues with having this shock.I can honestly say, I wish I had one of these years ago when I started back riding and especially having an ebike now. You won't feel those bumps hardly at all and those rough roads or bumpy trails will no longer be as bad as before once you put this shock on your bike. Your back and the lower part of your body are going to feel so much better; it's going to make you enjoy those long rides a lot more. Another important aspect is, it will actually make your riding safer because if you hit a deep hole or very rough spot, it absorbs a lot of that shock and will help keep you in control of your bike.Don't hesitate any longer, you need and deserve this shock on your bike. For value, safety and comfort, it is money well spent, and I very highly recommend this one - you're going to love it!
