Does not come with a single word of instruction. All the predrilled holes are ill-fitting. Assuming you can manage to put this thing half way together, you'll have to find a luthier to finish it because NOTHING fits. Ultimately I wasted $60, don't make my mistake!

I thought this would be fun to assemble as I move from repairs to building violins. It came in with the wrong measurements. Body too thick and wrong grading. I am sending it back. Other issues include fake purfling, and the fingerboard and nut were glued on further down the neck. For me to make this work, I would need to take the whole thing apart and just about start it over. That being said, whoever built it used an epoxy like glue instead of a hide glue. I would be very nervous to even take it apart. I had to remove a fingerboard from a violin before where someone had used epoxy. By the time I got the fingerboard off, the neck had split. Do not waste your money on this product. There are plenty of inexpensive violins to tear into that will not be so badly assembled.

Bought this for my daughter and it seems to be well made. No instructions with product. Hopefully we can figure out how to assemble it!!

I like it but, The packaging is horrible. It arrived in a plastic bag,Really? Being that all the parts were travelling banging around on each other, it got real dinged up even a hole was busted through the side. I am a skilled woodworker and I peeled off the top and scraped all the excess glue from the inside, repaired the hole and installed the sound post the re-glued and clamped it back together. Ok, It's a kit, It costs less than a good set of strings. What is awesome is the crisp clean sound I got out of it! I really like it! I will buy another one. I'm giving this one to my grand daughter. Oh, I opted not to use the plastic Hardware and put on Rosewood chin rest, pegs and Tail with brass tuners. It really does sound great.

My violin kit came with three slices in the face of a violin, so I re-ordered and returned the first one. The second one came with dents in the face of the violin so deep, i’m sure they can't be sanded out, and part of the material of the faces is missing where it shows the edge of the violin instead of the face. Not what I was hoping for.

In order to properly put this kit together you need a number of special tools. The one I got the top was cracked and the top was not glued properly. I would not recommend buying this.

Review of the Jiayouy Violin kit. I purchased this kit with the idea to make many violins if the quality was there. I received the kit in a plain wrapper envelope. No bubble wrap! the would had many dents and gouges from shipping impacts. I then removed the top plate, from the violin to determine the inside quality. See attached pictures. Issued I found are:(1) Purfling bad. (2) Patches applied. indicate poor glueing. (3) Inside binding and C-bouts not glued well. (4) Debree inside violin. (5) Bass bar not correct dimensions. The quality of the kit is very poor. I cannot recommend this kit to anyone. DO NOT PURCHASE.

This body had top and back heavily over glued. Also the top plate was soft unseasoned wood. The linings were poor thin construction the neck has a fretboard which I appreciated. I found that the non-hide glue which was excessively coating parts of the top and back can be softened with denatured alcohol So I removed the dead sounding top and it's extra glue with that. I just pinched off the bass bar and tried some thining but found the top to be unresponsive, (still for the price it's okay), I found that if you grind some pine resin an mix it with denatured alcohol you can infuse such soft wood with the resin and after a couple of applications on both sides the top started to have more ring to it, (again comparatively to tone of low cost violins. After cleaning wide swaths of glue on the back it also became better sounding. Glad I found out that the glue softens with alcohol. I am going to replace the thin linings and bass bar and then re-glue the whole thing with hide glue. Fair price for what you get. a finished version of the same type of violin, (with same excessive glue, soft top and thin linings) costs about $120+. I enjoy working on this.

Does not contain a sound post. Just a wall hanger or good practice for a kit assembly
