This Fresnel light modifier is nice , but there are a few things I wish were a little better. First, adjusting the beam angle is a little difficult especially if you are already attached to your light. Basically one portion of the mount slides over the other and locks into little indents. Mine doesn’t exactly slide in and out easily and sometimes is a little crooked which messes up my light pattern. I can get it to even out, but it is a hassle.The build quality is average. It does fit correctly into a Bowens Mount. I had no issues with light spill at the connection. The filters attach easily with a magnetic face, however, you cannot stack the filters.I know the modifier is labeled to work with continuous light, but I also tried it with flash and it worked fine (I have a Bowens Mount adapter for my flash). So far, I’ve used this modifier as a hair light, a back light, fill light and spot light. It is good at controlling the light spread.

The Jinbei Fresnel Lens is a low-budget way to concentrate a photo light. A true fresnel is a concave glass with stair step ridges to concentrate the light. Popular with photographers and lighthouses. The Jinbei uses thin plastic with a pattern like a bathroom window, that only serves to even out the light passing through it. The result is a concentrated beam with a soft focus.The Jinbeihas a light metal shell that easily fits into my Bowen's mounts. The beam can be opened or closed by pushing a tube in or out. There are no knobs or levers; it takes brute force to change the beam angle. There is a magnetic frame that holds colored gels. The gels are dense and drop the luminance a couple stops.This snoot is not appropriate for professional production and will not withstand the rigor. However, for an amateur who wants a decent key light, this snoot will do the trick without too much of an investment. However, it does not project the same gradation and quality as a true fresnel. For that luxury, the price will be a bit higher.

I have been extremely impressed with this little gadget. It is very easy to mount on any Bowens light, and the ability to adjust the beam has been so much fun to play with on portrait sessions. I love the drama of this focused light. 100% recommended.

This is truly one great product, Made of pretty good quality materials and as many others have said, it defiantly works. Its like a lens for your light. It truly helps you to focus your light right where you want it. It Also allows you to adjust the concentration of light unlike cheaper snoot modifiers. As well as gels that attache magnetically. You have a few options that would be a benefit for any video production. I have to say I didn't know I needed it until I tried it. LOL.Now this is permanently attached to one of my accent lights for my stationary vlog set up. As many have said a great camera is only as good as the lighting you use to light your subject. So you get several gels with this spot attachment along with the attachment itself. The gels attach right to the front with magnets. The spot extends out so you can change the size of your spot. Unfortunately there is a bit of a issue here. It extends much too easily. So if your light it tilted down this will extend all the way out just from gravity. A small piece of gaff tape solves this issue but I really shouldn't have to do that.The glass isn't too think so you aren't getting a large increase in light brightness. They state you are getting 7 times brightness. Not sure how they calculated that because I'm not getting anywhere close to that. There is also quite a lot of light spillage from this product and you simply do not get the sharp edges they show in the product photos.So while I have beat up this product quite a bit, this might be a good choice if you are on a really tight budget. Keep in mind you really are getting what you pay for which isn't a heck of a lot but there aren't a ton of choices for an attachment like this that is priced under $50 like this one is. Maybe pick it up if you are interested in what this kind of product can do for your photography/videography and if you like the effect then you can upgrade to one that works really well.

I returned this (and the light) as it despite the low price it's not good enough for me for serious production work. The lens does not focus well - you cannot get crisp edges to your spot, not even close. And there is quite a bit of spill around it. There are some nice gels included and price is very low for those to be included, but the changing procedure is not simple or secure.
