Lovely soft willow

I already had some vine charcoal from a reputable art supply. Wanted willow to try the difference. Willow is supposed to be black-black and the particles are larger than vine which means it erases and blends differently. I did a quick paper test and all three charcoals I have are nearly indistinguishable. Out of the package they all look the same, feel the same and all the marks are almost identical. Maybe the vine I am certain is vine is a little smoother, but these are a natural product so I expect some variation. If you're looking for the black-black of willow charcoal, this is definitely not it. My lighting is overhead LED 5000K so that should be sufficient. I do plenty of inking with sumi so I'm pretty sure I know what black looks like. The packaging even says willow charcoal in English on the 25pc container. I have a lot of gesture and figure studies to do so I'll still use it. Minus two stars for false labeling. However, I still think this is a good value and I did get both packages. The tube container is fairly robust and will make for good storage and the charcoal is still blacker than my 6B graphite but I have compressed sticks that are even blacker.
