We have a small Intex inflatable hot tub. We maintain chlorine and pH, clean and replace filters, but sometimes you need more. When the water foams and the bubbles take time to go away, you probably have oils or other human "residues." Our old tub had a chemical called foam away but it spilled in a cabinet and had all kinds of warnings on it about not touching it, but no instructions on how much to use. So when I searched hot tub care and saw these I thought why not. When I first got them I tried a small piece of sponge just in my sink in a dish I'd been soaking something greasy and that piece came out covered in the oil. So I put one in the tub, ran the bubbles a bit then put the lid on. Came back next day and the tub looked so clear. Also my turtle sponge was brown. Thankfully the other reviews have pointed out this is iron, probably other mineral residue. I wasn't able to rinse it off. Still happy about the result. Very cool.

I had no idea that hot tub sponges were a thing. They work well to absorb oils between water changes. This allows you to use less chemicals.Affordable and effective.

I spend a lot of time cleaning my hot tub. Balancing chemicals, cleaning filters, and scooping debris. That all changed last week, I dropped the JMUQ pool sponge into the water and it went to work almost immediately.I'm not going to pretend that the first sponge didn't come out gross. There was a lot of gunk in my water that I obviously wasn't getting out. This pool sponge worked amazingly!I put a second sponge in after 24 hours, and a third at 48 hours. I wanted to show you how they looked over time, but, truth is, that first one did such a great job in such a short amount of time that the second and third sponges still look brand new after almost a week.I pulled that first sponge and gave it a good rinse. It is still discolored, but it's good to go for round two. They are just foam sponges, but they're more than durable enough to float in the pool.Best of all, they have had no adverse effects on my chemical balance.Don't be like me, don't assume that a little sponge won't make a difference in your pool water. This thing is a bit of a game-changer for me, and my wife appreciates that it is shaped like a turtle. Absolutely worth the price for me.

I have used other hot tub sponges before but was out and thought I'd give these a try. Like the posting said, yes, you will receive them in a package and they will be shrink wrapped and look deformed. Immediately upon opening the package, they quickly bounced back to life and went into the proper shape. The foam is pretty basic foam so I’m not sure about its longevity. I put 2 into the hot tub and left them for 48 hours before reviewing. I posted some pics showing one completely saturated with water (and somewhat sinking) and another one that is not saturated with water (and floating on the top). My hot tub did have some oils in it from our lotions and the oil did adhere to the sponge floating (and not to the one that was pretty much submerged in water). Make sense since the oils float on the surface. So, they do work but they do work best when they are not saturated with water. Not sure how one was saturated and one not…. Overall, they will do the job.

I just cleaned, emptied, and refilled my hot tub. I decided to get some of these to help with my water clarity. The first night I put one in it turned extremely brown overnight. Not sure why. I threw it out, and put a new one in. The next night it was starting to turn brown but wasn't a bad. No clue what would cause that as I am not on well water. But it took something out of the water🤷‍♀️ so it does it's job. Would recommend. Good value for the money.

3 of the 6 boxes of 50 scum turtles arrived vacuum sealed or packed to the point they were crushed. Some are discolored and yellowed while the remaining boxes are white, clean and unmolested.
