This M48-M54 Adapter Ring works perfectly, just as I hoped. It added 2mm to my imaging chain (2.06 mm measured by micrometer). It could be further improved by labeling it's sizing on the unit and drilling holes on the rim or knurling the outside edge to help release it if it gets twisted on too tight. Yet at this price it's a deal!

Finding a good cheap adapter for my astrophotography is tough in US. Well, this good quality adapter probably is one of the lower price you can find with Amazona shipping.

This Astro adapter ring M54 to M48 both are have a male thread this is a great adapter! High quality and could be sold for over $20 elsewhere.A spec that is not listed is this adapter optical length is 1.5mm (that is it does add 1.5mm distance, as some of these M54-M48 add 1.9mm, this is important to know for back focus..Like I said if you need a 54mm male to a 48mm male adapter this is it.
