650 nm Class IIIA laser diode identifies faults in single and multi-mode fiber up to 3 miles long
Includes adapters for 1.5 mm and 2.5mm ferruled connectors, such as FC, SC, and ST connectors, as well as an LC adapter for LC connectors
Has three different modes with constant output power: Continuous wave, pulsing, and slower pulsing mode
Works in OTDR dead zones and is used for end-to-end visual fiber identification
Protective sleeve can be rotated to keep power button safe from being accidently pressed
Light and portable pen-style design with rugged aluminum housing is perfect for jobsites and on-the-go use

I had a cheap chinese unit, kept giving erratic readings. Decided to purchase the Jonard (much higher price), and I'm very happy with it. This is a case of you get what you paid for.

Had this VFL for exactly 6 months. My first review on this was great only to find out that after using it daily and having a fresh set of batteries, the VFL is no longer as bright as it was for the first month. Used to be able to shoot light and could see it thru the dust cap, but now I have to remove the dust cap, shade the port to see the light. Not sure if it’s just this model but for the price, I thought that I’d at least get good light for a year. Not happy.

Really wanted to like the tool. Visuals are good and first couple of clicks were satisfying.. but after 10 or so uses first button started to shift and not work properly, then it started to drain batteries, then second button stopped working, and last it lost connection to battery housing.When a simple tool has 2 buttons ... and costs leg and arm, it suppose to work at least couple of year not just 20-30 uses.It is shame.. 25$ tool works 5th year, and ~179$ tool worked only 20-30 clicks. Fell for fancy looks. Good signal though...don't buy and don't suggest to anyone, not worth any money. Better stick with cheap visual fault locator and don't waste time, wallet and mental health over fancy looking joke of a tool

Like the compact size, fits in your shirt pocket. Strong enough to push the laser through several bulkheads up 7 floors to locate the other end. Would recommend this product.

This tool is well built and solid. I like the adapter it comes with so I’m covered for every connector I expect to run into. The Laser is bright and has two pulsing modes to help locate leaks in the fiber. I will get a lot of use out of this tool.
