I used this to make an extension cord from 12/2 wire. This worked perfectly. Was rated for 12 gauge wire and totally meets my expectations. Good workmanship. Thanks to all.

It's almost been a year and this thing performs great! I got it because of the included light which helps to let you know there is power in the questionable plug. Installed easily, assembled simply, but it is a bit proud so there was a few instances where the outdoor plug case was too small for it. That's the only complaint but I don't think that warrants a star reduction.

Yes, I paid more for this lighted version compared to regular. But it saved me a lot of trouble and money. The power had gone off on an outlet to a vital sump pump. I only knew it because the light was off on this plug. Had I had a regular plug, I would have not know until I had a flood.

I bought this for the light feature to verify that power is going to the cord but the installation was not easy because there is no room to play with to screw in the wires

Plug comes as advertised. I found the video included within the product page on Amazon very useful in understanding how to install on a power cord. The two screws which hold the top and bottom halves together were really resistant and took some force with the screwdriver to get them to come loose to take it apart so I could run my power cord through. Otherwise, it took me less than five minutes to install and works great. I really like the fact that the plug illuminates when plugged into an outlet so I know that I’ve got power going into the power cord. Seems very well made and durable. Would buy again if I need another.
