What a disappointment. This bookpress is a great size for regular book size or if creating smaller notepads to press. The bamboo is very nice looking and the entire piece is solid. Why is it a disappointment? Because the top piece of the larger wood -- the part that would press down into the book/paper doesn't fit!!!!! No matter how I, and my husband, have tried, it won't fit flat - nowhere near. So my husband had to shave off some of the side edges (that's what I call it - he used a wood plane to do this) so it would fit and finally be useful. For that I must give it 2 stars because not everyone can do this or have someone in their life who can shave off enough of the wood to make it fit. If that's not done, then it's useless. I'm sure hope I'm the only one that this happened to and that others don't have to experience this.

The holes on one side of the base weren’t pre-drilled, & I didn’t have a drill handy, so one side is kinda wonky.There were two bolts in the box - one that fit through the threaded hole & one that was too large. Not sure what was going on with that.There are no instructions included in the bix - you’ll have to come back here for assembly instructions.Once it’s all put together, wonky as it is, it appears to work well. I may put something between the foot & the top board though.
