I expected a full kit that would allow my kids to make a book and bind it with paper and covers, but all it was was the thing to press it together and some thread. The instructions were not clear on how you were supposed to bind the pages together, so we just returned it.

I'm happy with what's included in the set. The awl is sturdy and the wax thread comes in all the colors you'd be most likely to need in book binding. I'm still starting out but this set is helpful and includes some convenience items, like the threader tools and special folding tools. Simple but nice!

The book press wood isn’t super strong, heard some cracking when I was tightening it.I’m just getting in to book binding so this is a good starter kit. I’ve never had needles for books before, nor have I ever had a bone folder. The materials are useable, but hardly luxury. But you get what you pay for, and I got this on sale for CHEAP. but it’s a good start kit.

Great press. Boards are flat and of great quality.Easy to put together. Easy to adjust.Can be used for other crafts that need a press.Only con is one bolt started to spin in the hex shaped hole that bolt fits in. Just a drop or two of ca glue makes sure they stay in place.
