My application was a bit unusual. I used the rope to wrap a metal post for decoration which really worked out well. So I can't really comment on it's strength.

We needed extra rope attached to the wood posts leading down to our pools. The 1/2” rope needed to be added to fill the gaps between the 2” rope on the top of the 3 wood posts to the stairs. This rope is strong and flexible and adds the security needed to make sure our grandchildren wouldn’t fall into one of the pools that is below the backside of the rope railing.

When the rope gets wet it’ll tension tight Then as it dries it’ll droop. We like the variations.

I always thought that older, natural rope smelled funny because it was old. Well, I guess I was wrong. This rope smells funny too. I guess that's just the jute or hemp smell.Rope feels fine in the hands, and offers a great natural feel.
