I ordered this in the 16oz size, unfortunately I had to return it as I misjudged how large the weight and line would be.I needed it to put my portable ham radio antenna into the trees but again it was too big as it felt heavy and I know that should I have used it I would of threw my antenna above the trees as this item is meant for serious use.Hightly recommended !!!!

Must not have read description properly. Line is 1/8", too thick in my experience. Throw bag is decent.

Awesome product, really works great. Combine with a launcher it goes really high. It’s worth getting this one over the lighter one.

This worked perfectly for what I needed it to do. Weight was a little heavy I should have picked the 12 or find a 10 for more distance.

I've been using this throw weight in two places. The first is obvious, to get ropes up into trees in order to take them down with a chainsaw. It works really well for this. The second use is a little more off. I'm using the throw weight to get my portable antenna rigged up into trees when I set up my portable ham radio. Yeah, this works a treat for that. Toss the weight over a branch, attach it to the antenna end and run the antenna up the tree. Perfection. The weight is good. The line is strong (and there's a LOT of it). It's an excellent and useful tool.

La hondilla es excelente en peso y tamaño, la línea de tiro resultó bastante útil solo se le hicieron unos bucles en las puntas pero creo que es por el material

This is my first experience with a throw bag and line. It took me over half an hour to get the branch I wanted! :) But that was due to my own inexperience and nothing to do with the product. I abused it pretty heavily my first day out, but it still looks like new despite the repeated crashes down to the ground and getting it stuck and then unstuck over and over again. The rope slid nicely across the branch yet held the knots to the throw bag and my actual climbing rope very well. When it does finally wear out, I’ll gladly replace it with the same thing.

Works really well. My son and I took down a bunch of dead branches from some tall pine trees using this to pull up a rope saw. The bag and its cord snuck almost effortlessly through clusters of branches, I was really impressed we didn't get it stuck anywhere. Only close call was when one throw hit the tree's trunk and ricocheted to a dead branch and got wrapped around it badly. Thankfully it was small and we were able to pull and snap that dead branch off using the throw rope.My son and I both learned the hard way to be sure there is absolutely no skin in contact with the rope when launching it - the rope causes intense skin burns really quickly when moving at high speeds. If you really need to let the rope slip lightly through your hands to be able to stop it after it reaches the branch you want, then wear leather gloves, long sleeves and long pants.I purchased and am happy to recommend the 16 oz. I never had to fear it not coming right back down after a throw, even through thick branches. To get it high up, we strapped a water balloon launcher onto a T-shaped 8' long 2x4 rig I built to launch the bag up to the high branches with rather good accuracy and plenty of inertia. That also added some good fun to our father-son branch trimming project.

What a great product. It has saved me so much headache in bringing down large trees. It takes a lot of practise to use this product and I found that because the throw weight was so heavy I almost had to stand at right angles to the direction of throw to get it to actually hit the tree. Once you have the line over a branch you can tie it off to a much larger rope and pull the rope over the branch. I then tie the larger rope off to my tractor or through a pulley and out of the line of fall. Once you get your technique down though it becomes an invaluable took in your tree felling kit. The only thing negative I would bring up is that the weight is perhaps just a tad too much for very high branches that you will encounter with large pine trees. For those situations you should also consider purchasing an additional but lighter throw weight!
