Several and various attempts, and it doesn't work. Doesn't play my videotapes.Very disappointing that I'm out all that money for something that just won't work.

This is the VCR I wanted for my video projector. I like to watch my old school VHS tapes on the big in-house screen. I checked every function on this JVC HI-FI VCR. everything seems to be in good working order. It's almost like new for an old VCR.

pkg came as anticipated and was wrapped very very well. however, the tape door was broken off and the spring that holds it on was rattling around inside the unit. i finally had a chance to hook it up today and it DOES work so far, but i can't get the tape door to go back on, so it will have to be used, and set without it. picture quality isn't the best, but, it is a refurbished unit and my tapes are 'old' like the vcr is. overall, i am satisfied with it as long as the door being off doesn't affect the usage. remote was packaged with the unit and works. personally, i do not believe that the door came off during shipping and handling bc of the way it was packaged. i don't think it was attached before it was wrapped and sent.

All of my old home videos were not working on my other VHS player, which can play normal production quality VHS tapes fine. But my home videos were not working. This VHS player works so well for my home movies. They look perfect. You do not get a remote or composite cables but I don't care. It works and I am thankful. The seller was Remix LLC.

I like the quality and how easy is was to operate with the correct remote. It plays my old home movies Beautifully! I have many Home Movie memories on VHS form, and this product brought back wonderful memories when my granddaughter and I watched her as a baby and young kid on this JVC HRA591U 4-Head Hi-Fi VCR

they included a new replacement remote that lists jvc as a brand on the packaging but when you open it it had no codes for vcrs. there was a hand written code on the list that did not work. I went to the internet and tried every jvc vcr code I could find and it still did not work.I have had very little use of it because it has no remote.
