The quality is good, the handle is comfortable, but it didn’t work well for my pugs’ hair

This is a great brush for getting the undercoat fur from our Shelties. And tho it is some work to get it thru their fur it really grabs the undercoat and the pups love it, They sit patiently will we give them a brush- which with our dogs is nearly a daily affair during fur blowing season.. I think it must feel good to them to get all that fur out and off..

I use this on lots of dogs at work. I hate pin brushes that are too flimsy and soft, because the pins eventually fall out or bend. Or its too flimsy to actually grab the hair. This pin brush is better than most that are way more expensive. This works great at loosening matting on coton, yorkie, schnauzer type coats. It won't completely remove the matts, but it gently loosens some of them so that you can go in with a different brush. Less discomfort. This brush would be great for preventing matts in those types of coats as well.

I got this because I have a JW undercoat rake, great handle and great quality, and learned that a pin brush is ideal for barely pulling the skin while slowly working out matts and tangles.A certain aire-head-dale dog will NOT hold still when you get to lower legs and belly, so routine maintenance is difficult, and problems accumulate....I am pretty gentle and when I feel a tangle resisting, usually can stop rather than hurt the dog, and try again, but the dog is older, strong-willed, and sensitie. Before you even feel the tangle resisting, she will fuss or pull away or panic and yelp. We've had groomers give up and shave and then she looks ridiculous. With this pin brush, I push towards the dog in a very short stroke, then pull away, rather than use a longer brushing or combing stroke along her legs. You can hear it working. Takes longer, and barely removes any hair, but with this dog that may be the winningest strategy.A slicker will be faster but the dog needs to be tough enough to tolerate a little more pulling because it's many more wires catch more of the tangle. An undercoat rake (has straight blunted round prongs) is awesome if there is not tangling or matting, really pulls out a lot of hair quickly and painlessly, but will not go through areas with any tangle or matt.I also tried dematting rakes which are kind of like curved knife blades. Not sharp enough to cut through mats, but sharp enough to cut through my thumbnail (ouch) when dog flinched due to pulling of the fur. Not recommended. One other approach is a plaque scraper, which is effectively a dulled dental pick which I use by poking through matts, then pulling to split the matt into smaller bits, and often find it's just woven in and already ready to slowly work free without needed to cut the mat out, while holding the matt to prevent pulling on the skin. You could take any slightly curved tip pick, grind or file the point dull for safety, and try that.

This brush combs the dog fine he’s medium length hair and not tangly at all) but it doesn’t gather any of the hair WHATSOEVER. So don’t use if you have a shredder. And if your dog is sensitive, the bristles are pretty sharp. It’s easy to clean indeed because there’s never anything to clean. I like the grip handle though.

For $2.50 it is a good brush. But, it is really big. I just wanted what I thought was a small black brush for my guinea pig. No fault with the product. But they need to show that you will randomly get something else, not what is pictured. They should also have size reference in the picture. But hey, that part is my fault because it does say so further down the page. It does not tell you you will receive a white brush which I would never have chosen. So, if you are in the market for a random large pet brush of random color for $2.50ish. This is your brush.

The small size is still kind of big, but overall product and quality is great

Eh.. gets the job done I guess, but the bristles seem to be weakish and there isn't much holding comfort to it I think. It seems to get the job done really well, but all they seem to put it together with is cheap plastic with a thin rubbering on it that would probably peel off and doesn't seem to be felt that much. The bristles though are heavy duty it seems, so they do the job well I think, but I called them weakish because the material that holds them seems to be too light. Thankfully my dog does seem to like it. He is a fawn pug, so his fur is a bit thicker and we use it to brush out dead hairs.

Great price and even better brush for my dog! It is small enough for a 10 pound dog (my dog doesn't really like those overly big, scary looking brushes). The handle is also ergonomically friendly and is one of the better ones that I have come across

Nice brush, but a bit big for my Maltese, which is the one I bought it for. Works well for tighter areas on my standard poodle. Will look for something else for my little dog.
