  • Lightweight and portable design, only 3 inches (77mm) in length and weighing just 20 grams. Perfect for Parks on the Air (POTA), Summits on the Air (SOTA) and Field Day.

The K9DP QRP broadcast interference (BCI) filter allows QRP (low-power) amateur radio operators to reduce or eliminate unwanted broadcast interference in their signals. Primary designed to help HF radios and receivers that struggle with front-end overload from AM broadcast stations, compatible with Xiegu X6100, X5105, G90, G106 and SDR recievers.
This lightweight and portable filter is ideal for use in field operations such as Parks on the Air (POTA), Summits on the Air (SOTA), and Field Day. It has been tested at power levels up to 20 watts with SSB, CW, and digital modes, and its small size and low weight make it easy to take with you wherever you go. Measuring only 3 inches (77mm) in length and weighing just 20 grams, it's a convenient choice for on-the-go operations.
Overall, this filter is a great way for radio operators to enhance their radio’s performance and improve their communication experience. These filters have a 50Ω impedance and are symmetrical, so it's not important which end is the input or output.
Caution: High SWR can damage the filter. The filter should be inserted inline between the transceiver and tuner, rather than between the tuner and antenna. If your radio has an internal tuner, be sure to use a resonant antenna or an antenna with a matching circuit, such as an EFHW (end fed half wave), in combination with the filter.

I live in an urban area and suffer from AM broadcast interference on my Xiegu G90. It was most noticeable on 20m & 10m frequencies. I’m currently running the MFJ-1984LP end fed antenna. Being a new HAM, I was excited to get my radio and antenna set up and begin making contacts. The AM broadcast interference rendered my G90 useless.A friend of mine located this filter from K9DP and the description sounded exactly what I needed to get rid of the AM broadcast interference. After installing it, NO MORE INTERFERENCE!!! I can finally enjoy my radio now! I checked all the bands available for my particular antenna, which are 10m-40m. No AM broadcast interference on any band anymore!Thank you for making this filter Mr. Pearson. Your product works as you describe! It’s quality-very well made! I can’t thank you enough. My G90 works now thanks to you Sir!73-KQ4JRZ

Like other reviewers, I live in an urban area with an AM stations nearby. Recently purchased an X6100 and it was unusable in that environment. This filter did wonders. Was a little worried that it would negatively affect digital transmissions, but have had several European contacts on FT8, so it's affect seems minimal. Would be nice if you added a male/male adapter or short cable, but I understand that most people buying this already have a drawer full of such items. Will be buying more in kit form for other SDR devices. Glad to support a Ham.

I bought this for my Xiegu G90 as I have a local AM station that made it impossible to hear anything else during the daytime. Once I installed this, the AM broadcast interference was gone! I will be buying another (the kit version next time) to have for portable use also. 100% recommend.

This little gem solved the overload issue with my Xiegu G90. The G90 has an excellent internal tuner which I paired with a non-resonant 84' random wire however the radio was virtually unusable on all bands at my QTH due to overload from strong brodcast signals in the area. This little filter eliminated those completely on the bands I have tested so far 10m,20m and 40m.One note I have been tuning up BEFORE adding the filter inline. I am not sure if that is required however that is the preferred SOP with my other bandpass filters to that is how I operate. It's a minor inconvenience in my opinion.

Kinda cuts out the 160 meter band on the X6100. This is fine for me, no real antenna for that band on my lot. Works great for the broadcast interference on the upper bands up thru 10. Clean work.
