This has a little guide knob on the bottom to go into a hole in line with the hole the screw sits in. I did not want to drill two holes, so I used a dremel tool to remove the little post thing on the bottom. Would have given it 5 stars if I did not have to modify.

Exactly as described. I put these on a squier cv 50s strat, fit perfectly and took less than 5 minutes.

These string trees are quite nice! I didn't want to drill a hole in my guitar's headstock, so I used a very small flat file to remove the little stub off of the bottom of the string tree. I like the look of this style of string tree much better than the factory one that came on my guitar. I am able to see the guitar's logo better and I'd say that the headstock just looks better in general. I'd definitely recommend this item!

These worked well on my MIM strat. Since these are designed for an American strat, it had the nub on the bottom to align it on the headstock. Since my strat does not have this hole, like many others, I filed down the nub with a file until it was flat. Took about 5 minutes and now sits flush on the headstock

Good buy. I had to sand off of the nubs with a file but not a huge deal. I'm not sure what kind of metal these are made out of but I'm guessing they won't negatively effect the tone of the guitar. My only complaint is I wish they offered a more vintage (not shiny) finish. I find the shiny chrome to be tacky looking and prefer the more vintage look of nickle or brushed metal. Though that is obviously a subjective thing. All in all a good buy. I like that you get 2 and the cost is pretty fair.

I love it. Good replacement or for a build stratocaster or telecaster for string tree. Price is great for the quality.
