Bought 2 sets of these for adjusting the springs on my Fox adjustable coilovers on the Tacoma. I USE ALL 4 OF THEM on 1 spring, this method has proved to be very safe and not scary with the heavy springs I'm running.

This works just as intended. I didn't use the safety piece on it, so I can't speak to that, but this compressed two front Mercedes springs without scaring the bejesus out of me so... 5 stars!

Worked good for replacing a strut on my 2014 GMC Sierra 1500.

Super sturdy! This tool MUST have threads and bearing greased with bearing grease before you stress it, or you WILL break it. This tool has to withstand thousands of pounds of pressure! Unfortunately, no instructions are included and I could not find instructions online. I figured it out after a few minutes though; it's pretty obvious how it works. 19mm socket and a 1/2 in cordless impact tool works great with this spring compressor. Pic is from stock springs on a 1984 Celica GT coupe.

Sturdy, Sturdy, Sturdy. I love these. I bought 2 sets so I could 3 compressors per coil. These are so well built, and so well designed that I'd have no hesitation using just a set of 2 on a coil. I use 3 per coil so I can manipulate the spring along 3 axes for alignment/reassembly reasons. Some people complain that they fall apart; that the thrust bearings fall apart. Well, mine have been through plenty of use and show no signs of wear. I am willing to bet that those people complaining neglected to pack the bearing with red high pressure grease before using. All bearings will fail without lubrication; especially those subjected to thousands of pounds of spring load. Grease the heck out of the leadscrew, the bearing, and the telescoping pipes, then sit back and watch these things make compressing springs look easy.

I wanted to install new shocks and springs on my Jeep, so I hit AutoZone to get their loaner spring compressor. After compressing and assembling the coilover, then releasing the tension, I couldn't remove the compressor because the gaps in the spring were too tight for the brackets.So... I found this one... and it worked beautifully. So much faster and definitely felt safer than the other.

I love how solidly this tool is made, way better than the "widow maker" spring compressors you rent from the auto parts store. HOWEVER, no instructions? This tool has several moving parts and it is not immediately obvious how best to operate. A short manual or at least a YouTube link to an instructional video would be helpful. Other than that, it is a keeper and looks like it was built for years of use.

Bought this to redo the front end on my ram 2500. Just could not get them to fit over my springs in a safe manner. I'm keeping the set because I'm sure I'll find a use for them but I would not recommend these for bigger trucks. Quality of them seems sturdy but then again I've yet to use them. Floor jack and jack stands worked for me when it came to my truck.
