A few months into regular usage, the unit speakers started to produce a boom sound at a regular interval. this makes the unit unplayable. dealing with KAWAI customer service has been a nightmare. slow response times, bad quality experience, bad quality product. do not buy

The SK EX Concert Grand Piano replica is amazingly solid.The feel / balance of the keys were amazing. Almost like playing a real upright piano.Recording and playing back songs is easy and solid.The amount of varying instruments were surprising generous however accessing them without using the pianoremote app is not user friendly. Speaking of not user friendly... the pianoremote app has a clunky layout and feel. It works without any issues (via ipad) but just not pleasant to browse through.With 2 - 20 Watt speakers, total of 40 Watts... I thought it would be the same or louder compared to an older Technics Electric Piano that had the same specs of 2 - 20 Watt speakers. However, it was more like 30 - 40 % quieter than the Technics Electric Piano. The main reason is the speakers on the Technics Electric Piano are facing toward the pianist vs the KDP-120 speakers are facing downward at the ground.Update: We have been playing this electric piano for about 18 months. To increase the sound quality, we connected 5 ways portable external speaker system. With that said, I would bump this rate up a point to 4 out of 5.
