Certain Jeep's hinges get to the point where you can't open the doors or close them with ease. These are a great to fix that. There are even YouTube videos to show you how to replace them.

As you can see from the pics, my jeep isn't babied... these inserts replaced some cheap-@$$ plastic ones. My doors have been off several times, and these allow them to effortlessly slide out and the inserts stay put.I spent a bit of time removing the old ones and cleaning the hole out. I spent even more time cleaning my hinge pins with a file, coarse emery cloth, then polishing them with a scotch Brite pad. It was worth it.I'll see how they do with slush and road salt after winter but I'm expecting them to hold up well.

very easy to install and did a great job of making all of the doors open and close properly and making it much easier to get the doors on and off. Price was great and came with the install tool.

The Engineers at Stellantis apparently have never heard of dilectric corrosion. If they did, they would never put a steel liner inside of an aluminum hinge. Better yet, they wouldn't bolt an aluminum hinge onto a steel door. Duh.. Just materials science 101. Any metal is a bad choice and delrin is the perfect tough material for this application. If your hinges are already siezing up, you're going to have a tough time getting the old liner out. Just be patient and use penetrant oil. It's not the tool's fault. Carefully use a drill bit if all else fails. That's what I had to do.

My doors open and close just like before. My Jeep is a 2016 & I started driving it in May that year in Ohio (lousy winters with lots of road salt). You can see the difference in what the Kentrol looks like versus what came out. Here's some stuff to know for install.1. I had to drill out the two bottom front factory sleeves due to corrosion.2. I needed a 1/2" drill bit.3. I had to remove the top hinge from the body so the drill would fit.4. The factory part is a soft metal, so don't drill aggressively. Let the bit do the work.5. Once the factory sleeves are out, I cleaned out the hinges before putting in the replacement ones. I used a .410 gauge shotgun wire and fabric brush. They worked perfectly.6. I think if I were doing this on a brand new Jeep fresh from the dealership, it would have taken 20-30 minutes, tops. With Ohio corrosion and cleaning, it took just over an hour. Easy, just time consuming.

Do yourself a favor, buy these. These replace your factory Jeep wrangler metal hinge liners which rust and cause problems. These make your doors operate super smoothly and makes taking them off quick and hassle free. This kit comes with everything you need and takes maybe an hour to install if you want to do the job properly and lightly sand inside the hinges to remove any surface rust and then coat the surface to prevent future rust between these hinge liners and the hinges themselves. These will not rust but the factory hinges ate still metal so some sort of preventative on the hinges is reccomended but that's my .02 Bottom line these are a super affordable solution to a potentially expensive problem down the line.

When I bought my Jeep - used 2007 - 2 years ago, I had a really hard time getting the doors off my first summer. My husband and I struggled really hard to get the front two off, and gave up on the back two. Coming from a Jeep family, I was the only one of the 4 of us that had this issue with my doors, so I figured something was wrong with my hinges or doors. By the second summer, I was dying to have all my doors off so I started researching would could cause having such a hard time taking my doors off. My research led me to these. After struggling for hours, we (took 3 of us) finally got all 4 doors off, then I saw why my doors were so hard to take off and put back on. The OEM liners were all sorts of jacked up. I had to hammer them all out with a flathead to replace with these because the tool provided couldn't do anything. Once these were installed, though, I was able to easily put my doors back on and remove them by myself. I'm pretty excited for next summer when I don't have to wait on my husband to help me take off my doors! My only regret is that I forgot to lube the liners up before putting my doors back on.

Comes with a handy little poker to remove your old liners. Once you remove your old liners, really take a look at their condition. Rusty, corroded, piles of garbage. That's why you shouldn't put wrong types of metal together. These plastic inserts pop right in with a little pressure. I highly recommend spraying the inside of your hinge, pre installation, with some rust inhibitor and really cleaning out those holes. Once you pop these in, go ahead and hit them with some white lithium grease. Either the old messy way via tube, or the newer cleaner way by means of a spray can.Important: If one or two of them don't slide in, usually on your back doors, it's because the factory really screwed the pooch when constructing your vehicle. This is well documented. Take a look, measure where it's getting stuck, and cut the new plastic liner to size. It'll proceed to pop in without giving you any trouble. If you force it in without trimming, door removal will be a bit of a headache on that back door. Not as much as it was the first time you tried, but no where as easy as it could have been if you cut it to size.Enjoy your newly, ridiculously easy, to remove doors.
