I got it to use with my SDS plus hammer drill. The chuck doesn't require any tools to tighten drill bits and accepts bits up to ½” in diameter. My other drills can only do bits up to ⅜” in diameter.I got three interchangeable shanks, one for SDS/Plus heads, another for ½” socket drivers and the last one for a quarter inch drivers. They all have a counter machine screw with a left thread to dead lock chuck on them. ½” shank also included 2 rubber O-rings for the lock grove and 2 shear pins to remove it from ball lock spindles.

Universal Drill Chuck with ¼” Hex Shank. Of course there are times when you need the strength of a corded ½” drill or drill press. But for most every other time you need a portable drill. My choices were limited mostly to my M12 lightweight drill. But with this Keyless Drill Chuck with ¼” shank installed, I can drill with one hammer drill and install screws with another, or just switch back and forth with one drill if needed (see pix). There is an optional base which can be used on a 3/8” square ended tool and one for drill chucks if needed, but the ¼” hex shank end is the best choice for me. I like this addition to my drill collection; and as such I rate it 5*.

This keyless chuck works very well. It grips drill bits tightly but they are easy to release when the time comes. The chuck works smoothly and appears to be well constructed. The chuck comes with three different options for mounting the chuck for operation with different tools. Oddly enough, the only adapter that would work for me is the 1/4" hex adapter but if I used it, it would be inserted into a regular keyed chuck. Not much point in that, LOL! Fear not though...what I do have is an R8 shank with 1/2-20 UNC threading. Mounting the chuck on that allows me to use this chuck on a milling machine...which works just great and is the purpose for which I ordered the chuck. Works great!

This is a nice keyless chuck that's up to the task of most regular duty drilling. The hex adapter fits correctly and securely in my driver with no slop or annoying wobbles. The chuck is smooth and turns fast whether I'm loosening or tightening, so it makes bit swaps easy and quick. It also has audible clicks that represent how tight it's holding the bits. It's very similar to the clicks I hear from vehicle gas caps as they get tightened down. It works great for any woods, plastics, and even thin metals, but the thicker metals I tried would all trigger the chuck to slip on the bits. So, with that knowledge, I think this is excellent, and recommended for regular duty drilling, but not for any heavyweight jobs, hence the missing star. Just keep any metals under 1/16 inches and all should be fine. Thank you.

Unlike the old versions of these this has the modern slow pitch thread and solid grip on your bits. It comes will all the described backers and includes a LH locking screw for each.Like other reviewers I’m not too sure what the O rings are for. I’d prefer a chuck that went down to 1mm for this size but at this price point it’s difficult to complain about that.4.5 stars Description and photos for this product are right on. I found this drill chuck super useful for my impact wrench. I can use the regular impact wrench to remove lug nuts and then use this to hold a wire brush when cleaning parts when working on my car. Instead of having to have my drill and impact wrench. Build quality is very good. The lack of instructions is concerning. Overall good value.

This keyless drill chuck was effective in allowing me to use things like an earth auger and a standard drill bit with my drill driver that only has a 1/4" socket. It held both without slippage.The jaws of the chuck work smoothly and align precisely. The knurling on the outside of the chuck is nicely machined, making it easy to tighten and loosen the jaws.Installation of the hex adapter was simple, I just opened the jaws of the chuck all the way, unscrewed the retaining screw in the adapter (which is reverse threaded) screwed the adapter onto the back of the chuck, then screwed the retaining screw into the adapter from the front of the chuck.Three adapters are included: a 1/4" hex for an impact driver, a 1/2" square for an impact wrench, and a 3/8 SDS-Plus for a rotary hammer. The package also includes two O-rings and two metal pins, but no explanation in the package, though there is a reference on the product page that these are for use with the 1/2" square adapter for use with an impact wrench.I am not quite sure why the description says "for Milwaukee" since it worked fine with my drill driver from another manufacturer.There are no instructions included, and all of the writing on the box the set came in is Chinese.
