I didn't get this case for the specific item it was designed for, or at least advertised for. I have some collectible items that are of similar size though that I'd like to protect, and be able to take on the go with me if I wanted to. This case looked like it was a perfect fit. It is.I like that it has a little velcro strap that closes across your device, or whatever you put in the case, to lock it in place. Then there's a nice foam padded top that comes down to keep your items from moving around when you take it on the go. would also probably protect things from a fall or drop.The case is lightweight and and has a cool, sleek look to it.It could also probably work well for carrying around a chromebook or something similar.

I don't own and MPD226, and probably never will. But I was hoping it would work for my Roland SP-404 MkII. While 1/2" thick er would be better for that off-label use, it DOES work. I'm not going on a world tour, but when I have to schlep my stuff out to a bar gig, this is fantastic. If the inner dimensions of this case will fit your small instrument/MIDI device, this will keep it dry and secure for minor travel. And if you DO own and MPD226, I would imagine this is perfect for it!
