I got this bike seat for my older (teenage) son to be able to ride around with some of his younger siblings. He put it together himself. He said the set-up was okay, though some of the screws were a little hard to tighten.Once it was put together, it seemed sturdy enough. My younger children really enjoyed going on the back of their brother's bike! My 2 y.o. especially enjoyed it. (My 4 y.o. daughter was scared.)We tried it out also with my 6 y.o. son in the seat. (He really rides his own bike on our biking trips, but we did it just for a short trip on our block.) He weighs about 50 lbs. He fit in the seat-- definitely harder to ride around with someone heavier, but it was still sturdy enough. This is definitely a nice addition to our family biking trips, and is very exciting for younger kids! We just keep in mind that all kids on the bike, even in the seat, still need to wear a helmet for safety, and once they're buckled in tight, we're set to go!

My husband put this together and on his bike, since he has the back shelf thing that you HAVE TO HAVE for this seat. It wasn't very difficult to put together- pretty straight forward, though the instructions were not overly detailed. Also, he happens to have rain guards or mud guards or whatever on his back tire and that actually made it a little more difficult to secure the front part on, so we used zip ties in the front and the back was still able to do normally as instructed.A tiny bit of our family cycling history is using a pull behind trailer, a seat mounted on the front between the bike seat and handlebars, and now this. Also hundreds of miles of non child pulling cycling in the past couple of years alone. We all liked this seat so much for our current stage of toddler- she is age 3, around 30lbs and about 3ft or so tall and it was perfect for her. She was able to look around far more than I expected with a child seat that seems like it would look directly into the parent's backside. The kids handle bars are easily adjustable and she has a little fun playing with them. I feel like this seat will be able to grow with her for a while. I wouldn't use it with someone much younger or smaller because obviously they need decent head control and the maturity to not try to climb out while moving or something else potentially disastrous. My 9 month old won't be able to use it for quite some time, as I fully expected. If there was any sort of restraint or seatbelt type thing, I did not see it or use it, it is possible that it was overlooked. Taking a young child on your bike is always going to be a risk, but I don't feel that this seat creates any additional hazards. It has a sturdy frame around 3 sides of the child that could possibly help protect in a small drop or collision, but it sits behind the rider in a way that would make it impossible to shield them or even see them easily. The legs are left completely open to be hurt in a crash, but that also allows them be free and have more versatility in the size of the child... so it's something to think about.Overall we are very pleased with this bike seat! Even for the casual once a month or less cyclist, it's a great value. If you happen to need to take the seat off and on frequently, it might still have its positives and negatives (like having to cut a zip tie every time you take it off!) but so far it is still in the positive column overall for us.

Used very lightly for a few weeks and leg rest broke off, cheap metal, cheap weld/soldering job, comes from China so low quality, would not recommend this product, was worried it would fall off mid ride and hurt my kid the entire time!

This seat was easy to install. The safety seat belt and fence did keep my toddler secure. The product itself is nice and sturdy. Well-made.HOWEVER… my toddler didn’t feel safe in it and cried after a while. I’m guessing it is because this seat is behind me and she can only see the back of me. And she is unable to see what is in front of us & where we were heading to. So, unfortunately, this isn’t a good fit for us.Each child varies- your child might not mind it but my daughter tends to be a little needy. lol We might have to try the one that sits in front of us so she can feel like we are hugging/ holding her. This seat will require a child that is kind of “independent”.

This works awesome on a 24 inch bike. My neighbor is using this for their little boy right now and he is absolutely enjoying this to the fullest! And I am so enjoying watching him laugh and giggling riding behind his momma and dad every day! It's perfect! It took them around a half a hour to put on their bike the other day. The little boy is 5 and he weighs about 45 lbs. He's a little over 3 foot tall and fits perfectly in this with room to go. I can't say enough good things about this seat. It's made really well. Was easy to put in they said also. And it's safe. The rails on the side go all the way around him. They have to lift him into the seat. It truly is a perfect seat for little ones to ride on the bike behind their parents. It's way better than those plastic ones back in the day! And the price is great too!
