Best lockbox on the market! Large enough to fit a whole key ring and very difficult to break.

We use these in our ambulances to lock up our drug box keys. I like these ones better than the generic Kidde boxes because the faceplate has a rubber attachment so it's just hangs down when open. The generic ones that come completely off, would get misplaced and lost.

Solid build but manufacturer cheaps out on the key pad. Shortly after installation at work, one of the numbers doesn't work. What in the world is wrong with quality control these days?!

It has been said that, "it's built like a tank" and it really has some heft to it. Spacious: I can store a large Toyota car key, a round key for a car anti-theft device, plus a twenty-bill wad of cash held by a large stationery clamp, comfortably (you can add a credit card OR a bank token not so comfortably). On top of that, I put in two hex-head lag bolts that take up some space, four would be better, but would take up more space. Unlike the MasterLock key safe, it's big and the locking mechanism takes up NO space. Easy to open. For failing eyes and for convenience, it can be opened by touch. Some people complain about it being difficult to set up and to read the instructions. So here goes my two cents: It comes with NO combination set, so the user can easily open and close the latch. Then, you open the lid, remove a plastic card tool included on the lid. This tool has a little flat-screwdriver tab. You use this screwdriver to turn each of the slots corresponding to the numbers you want for your combination. Turn them from left to right (180 degrees). Each little slot has an arrow icon, a little hard to see, but it starts out pointing to the left to mean "disengaged" and points to the right to mean "engaged". Put the plastic card back on for later use; reset with the mid button; and enter your combination again, open the latch, and close. NOTE that every time you open or close the latch, the whole thing gets automatically reset, so be prepared to enter your combination not only to open it, but also to close it. CONS: NOT MADE OF STEEL. No mention of what metal the "tank" is made of. My rare-earth magnet does not stick to it. And as has been said--The order of entering the code DOES NOT MATTER. Also. it carries a disclaimer that tells you that it is for "convenience" NOT for "security". So take that to mean that it is only to keep honest people honest, NOT a professional-theft deterrent. So do as I did and install it in a well hidden, out of sight, indoor place, and keep your main home key outdoors inside a SMALL two-key GE AccessPoint, also well hidden. Remember that you don't have to see the number pad in order to enter your combination, unlike rotating combinations. PS: Oh, I forget to tell you of another con: I like the way the inside of the lid has a keyring holder where I keep the two keys I mentioned, BUT when I used a regular-size ring, the lid refused to open--I was locked out. After much huffing and puffing, I was able to open up the key safe and saw that the ring was somehow interfering with the lid's opening. So I replaced it with a much smaller key ring, and that solved the problem.

Bought one of these to keep spare key at my beach house. Works every time plus the rubber cover protects it from the rain. Is very deep can hold multiple keys. Found others in the stores but they didn't have the storage space for more than 2 keys. If you are looking for a key safe this is a must buy.

The item is very solid and seems to be working very well. I find the combination a bit strange, in that you pick a series of numbers, but you cannot assess what order you enter them in (i.e. 12345 can be entered in in order to open the box). Other than that, it is a great item.***UPDATE****5 months later I am standing outside at 3 a.m. locked out of the property I bought the lock box for. The box won't open despite entering in the correct code. We finally had to enter the code, then hit the lever with a rock to pry the box open. Very frustrating that it broke so early on. My original review was *****, but that was when it worked....

We bought this box for my grandmother so the nurses can come in and take care of her. The last box we had the combination was easy to change, to easy and it got reset by accident and was unable to use after that. This box is easy to set but can not accidentally be reset. The box is strong and has lots of room inside of it. Very easy to use. The numbers are the same color as the box so if there is not a lot of light it will be hard to see. So make sure you place it in a well lit area or have a flash light.

This key safe has plenty of room for two car keys, one with a remote and flashlight, the other with a tiny pocketknife. It's easy to use, and provides a very safe place for keys. It's especially useful for making sure that someone in the family who shouldn't drive, can't get the car keys.
