Lights quickly with a fire starter. Burns quickly. Good value for the money.

This item arrived in a neatly packed box with uniform pieces of pine 1X1's stacked tightly. My first use resulted in a HEAVY BLACK SMOKE and smell of chemicals! Not very excited about that! I might simply use this as kindling for natural pine logs cut and split for my Mesa XL firepit.

These little chunks of wood burn nicely. I can put 4 of them in my tabletop firepit (size of Mesa XL) and they burn longer (about 20 minutes) than a cup of pellets (about 10). Which is really nice if you are cooking and need steady heat. They take a minute to catch, but they burn nicely once started. I can see burning through the entire box of these in one evening. The problem with that is they are costly at $29 a box. I will stick with burning pellets and just use these when cooking over the firepit. I do recommend them for that purpose.

These firewood blocks work very well. They are uniform in size, and they have no bark, so in general, you'll get a pretty clean burn. I find them to burn fairly quickly, so it's easy to go through a box in short order. I've found myself using these more as starters for whatever else I am burning. At $29, it's hard for me to turn away from just burning pellets in my Mesa instead (40 pound bag for $6-8). These certainly have a place in my life, but I won't burn these exclusively is all.

I have a small outdoor pizza oven that I received recently and it can take wood pellets, gas or wood chunks. These wood pieces fit well in the oven. I've also used them in my small firepit on my patio. Once they start burning, they tend to not go out like other firewood that I get. Also, with these wood pieces being cut blocks, they perfectly stay in the box. They could also be stacked evenly unlike fire logs. Overall, recommended, especially if you have a small firepit.
