Exactly what I needed for applying dubbing to a dubbing loop while tying trout flies. More than meets my expectations.

I am completely inexperienced with fly tying, but I wanted to give it a try. I can say that this is a great tool for holding something while keeping both hands free. They are well made and have a decent grip force. The tweezers are thin and long with pointy tips, which give me ideas about how to use them in other places. I sometimes work with tiny screws which keep falling and these tweezers are perfect for picking them up from where they fall.

Well I have finally made the leap into the fly fishing game and am very excited to use these dubbing tweezers for making my first flies. The tweezers feel very nice and springy, with plenty of negative tension holding them shut. The measurements along the tongs are accurate and easy to read. Now I just have to learn how to properly use them!I’m excited to jump into fly making, and I’m happy with the quality of these tweezers!

I want to lead off by saying that while I don't use these for fishing, I did find them to work well for what I needed them for and they appear well made. I do a lot of electronics repairs as a hobby of mine and there are many instances where having to squeeze the regular tweezers to keep something held can be a bit of a pain and regularly dropping small parts. These work very well to keep the small components in its grip and allows me to just focus on placing them without fearing the part is going to fall. The insides of the tweezers are smooth, which hasn't been a problem, but I'm thinking of taking a file to them to give a rougher surface for extra slip protection. The tip isn't terribly sharp but they do come with a plastic tube that slips over them and helps keep from poking through a storage bag or whatnot.

At the time of order the price was $17.65CAD.The tweezers are pretty good, however there are gaps between the two sides, so it only grips small things well at the tip and at the base. I don’t use them for tying flies, but considering how long they are, and that they have graduated markings on that length, I’d imagine that they should be able to grip small things along the full length. The fact that they don’t is why I’m only giving 4 stars. If you have to grip fine wire, thread, or feathers then these may disappoint you in the inconsistent quality. The markings seem to be laser cut and are quite nice, and the overall finish is good. The clamping pressure is also quite strong.

The jaws on these tweezers are well aligned, flat and have strong spring tension so they're able to hold fine material without losing grip. The jaws are able to fully close while keeping even pressure throughout them and the tips are quite fine and are helpful for precision work. The steel feels fairly rigid and I haven't had any issues with the tips bending and the steel has a nice smooth surface finish without any sharp edges. Something to note is that they don't appear to be plated or polished for added corrosion resistance although the gold color on the back of the handles looks quite nice. Overall these are decent self closing tweezers and the metric ruler is easy to see and accurate.

I completely agree with the other reviewers - these are superb tweezers, perfect in design and manufacturing. At times I will use not-so-great hackle by aligning and securing the tips in a bulldog or similar clamp, then setting them in a dubbing loop. These tweezers make that job super easy and it only takes a few seconds since you can see the tips as well as the butts to cut.Likewise dubbing material can be inserted and adjusted into the tweezers easier and faster than in the dubbing loop or split thread.Great tool, great price, easy 5 star fly tying tool.

First off, I don't actually make flies for fishing or any other reason, but the tools involved are perfect for both model/miniature building and prop making, which I've done for over 40 years. This tweezer is great for holding small parts while gluing or soldering. The 9.5cm blade is etched with millimeters, to allow for quick measuring and the entire thing is designed to stay closed. You squeeze it to open. The handle end can be clamped into a small vise to hold it in place. Easy five stars.

These are a decent set of tweezers. They are easy to open and clamp down on dubbing material with an appropriate amount of pressure. The flat jaws don't sit perfectly flush together when closed, but unless the plan is to wave the dubbing material in the tweezers, then there's no real issue. I particularly like the length of these. The mm graduations are a nice, but not entirely necessary, touch. The graduations are accurate on the tweezers, but if you compare them to a ruler, then they are off by 1mm...which is essentially irrelevant. Overall, these would easily serve your split-loop dubbing needs.

Excellent tweezers! I do detailed work using fine lines for my hobby of building recision scale models of ships and rigged aircraft and these tweezers are perfect. While designed for those who tie their own fly lures, these tweezers have many uses for fine work. They are comfortable to hold, and they close firmly until one applies pressure to open them. They are sturdy and feel solid. Highly recommended for all sorts of detailled work!

Fantastic tweezers that feel great in the hand and hold really well. The metal edges are nicely rounded on all of the places I touch. The only downside to this product is the metric scale only. It would've been nice to at least include an inch ruler on the reverse side.
